As you can see that my bedroom has been a dumping ground for all unwanted items:

These are the pics that I said I would post if I got up enough nerve. My ds did some fancy stuff to the photos in the background to be funny.

Hope this inspires you to clean up your little trouble spots.

    It looks GREAT!

Bed before we cleaned up the bedroom which is a catch all for all unwanted items. Check out my Bugs Life comforter.

Bed after room was cleaned. Check out my new bed spread and table lamps. I've never had

This is my make-shift closet. OMGosh!

This is another trouble spot.

This is an after pic showing my beeeutiful bed spread, new mirror and lamps my ds bought.

    Wow!

Edited to say: My kids and dh had to do most of the work because the dust caused my asthma to flare up and my allergies when things were being moved. So I have my dh and kids to thank for the beautiful job and hard work.

Excellent job! You deserve a lovely peaceful place to call your own. Best of luck in keeping it that way. It can be hard to break old habits.

    Way to Go!

I used to tan at the salon but got tired of the yucky mess the previous tanner left, ewww! I would spend at least 10 minutes cleaning the mess off the tanning bed.

It's more convenient at home. I tan my legs enough so I don't sport the "Boiled Chicken" look. :D

It was hard posting those pics because my room was just a junk yard that nobody wanted. But at least if it inspires someone it is all worth it.

ANYONE else have the nerve? Tee! Hee! Hee!

Ok, I'll bite. Hold me accountable for taking some 'before' pictures after DS wakes up from his nap (in our room).

BTW, your room looks awesome. It's a lot of work, but I pray peace and rest will fill that room for you as a result.

Thank you, you are so kind!

My ds said if posting the pics could inspire someone else, then I should do it.

I admit, it was a terrible mess. Our house is about 1700 sq ft and doesnt have closets in the bedrooms and it doesnt even have a linen closet. So we have struggled with finding furniture to represent closets.

I am so proud of my room now and it is so cool that after 20 years, I FINALLY have lamps. Yippee! Better than ceiling lighting.

Please post some pics and share with everyone and hopefully that will insprire others.

The rest of my house is spotless just my bedroom became the dumping ground. Not allowed now!

So, how did you deal with that? I ask, because I have a friend who does not have a closet in her room. She struggles with where to put the clothing, too. Lots of dressers take up so much room!

For seasonal clothing you can always use space bags.... I'm going to purchase some for our stuff out in the camper.

Tall upright cabinets with shelves and doors make a great place for clothes and such. I even used the doorway from my bedroom to the bathroom to hang dresses.

We have a modest house which is what we can afford. Would LOVE to have something bigger but we don't want to be a slave to huge payments.

We got our cabinets from the Home Depot.

We're gearing up to redo our kitchen and our upstairs hall bath.

The kitchen is going to be a major overhaul - new flooring, new cabinets, and island, a pass thru into the dining room. I'll post befores/durings/afters when we do it.

We have company March 14th, and we want to wait until then to start (which gives us time to order cabinets, prepare for no kitchen for a couple weeks).

Hubby and BIL will be doing all the work, so it will be a nights and weekends thing...hoping it's done in like 2 or 3 weeks.

The bathroom won't be as hard - we're keeping all the fixtures and flooring...just gotta get rid of wall paper, hang new towel racks, etc. I'm dreading the wall paper thing!

My laundry and mudroom are AWFUL...when I'm ready to redo them, I'll post pix....that may not be until summer though! :D

We ripped out all of our carpet and put down Pergo, it made a huge difference. We are going to re-finish our kitchen cabinets.

Hey a cool thread, before and after shots of different make overs! :D

We gutted the master bath and completely remodeled that about 5 years ago. Our house is older and we have done everything but the kitchen counter, cabinets.

We're sort of remodeling our kitchen. Our new appliances arrived Sat. (except the over-the-range microwave that's on backorder), and now I want to do something with the cabinets. We are planning to paint them, since they aren't in bad shape, just dark since we have wood floors. (I'm thinking off-white and distressed) We painted soon after we moved in, so that's done. Next, I want to replace the countertops. I've picked out what I want, but it'll most likely be next year before we get that done.
