I went to the Dollar Store to get graduation open house supplies. I was shopping for enough plates, napkins, cups and silverware for appx 100 guests. I got tables cloths for 10 tables (blue ones and white ones) matching blue plates, blue silverware and cups all for $34.00. The plates are the rigid good quality along with the silverware and cups. I was amazed at how much I got for such a low price without sacrificing good quality. Next month I will pick up the drinks which the Dollar Store has 3 liter Shasta soda for $1.00. We will also serve coffee. I was not able to find the table confetti so I will have to find that on line probably. I am also getting the graduation centerpieces which I can spiff up for next to nothing at the Dollar store. The city we went to, has a Chile's, we thought about eating there and changed our minds. Thank God! When we got home we received an email from Public Health indicating the water in that city was contaminated with Salmonella causing a lot of people to get really sick. They have closed down ALL commercial food places including restaurant until they can clean up the water. People are using bottled water. Anyone else like going to the Dollar Store?
We love going to the dollar store. My mom sends the kids gift cards to use there. We go and I let them browse and pick what they want. The store is great for birthdays and holidays. Got my stocking stuffers there, too.
We have tons of dollar stores in town, but only one that's really worth it's salt. Every year I get Christmas gifts for the kids in Eli's class at HS academy there. I have found everything from board games to plush puppets. They also have a huge wall of office supplies like stationary (for the printer) and even photo paper. That stuff is usually dang costly even at Walmart, but I get it there for $1. The other reason we always go there is for gift bags. DH's family is a gift bag family. But those things plus tissue paper can add $5 or more to the price of the gift. This store has a wall of them in all shapes, sizes, and themes. And they are all just $1. I love that store. I really do. I could do without all the chachkeys, but the rest of it is great. They don't carry food but we have another store called Deals that does. You can get name brand stuff like Goldfish crackers or Oreos for really really cheap (and no, they are't expired).
I like the dollar store. We also have a Dollar Tree. I do all my non-food items shopping there. Nice to get away from the yuck boredom of wal-mart (I live in the town of wal-mart's home office, i get MAXED OUT on wal-mart)
We love Dollar Tree! I take the kids every year when we fill shoe boxes for Samaritain's Purse. They are SO WONDERFUL there! I would give each kid a basket, and they would ring up each basket and bag it seperately, and give me one total. Then they told me that if I wanted, we could just bring the shoe box with us.
There are two Dollar Trees in our area. One is small and kinda grungy and one is huge and brightly lit and plays awesome dance music! They have so much stuff it's unbelievable. Hardcover books, kites, name brand make-up and other beauty products and food to boot. I have found great craft stuff and school stuff there as well. I love the dollar store.
We LOVE the Dollar Tree. Unfortunatly we have to travel almost 100 miles to a town that has one. But when we go we ALWAYS stop in and find awesome things. When we go to the Dallas/Ft Worth area we stop in at the .99 cent stores. They have even better deals there. Our favorite thing is the Tempo Car tissue refills. I'm going to be sad when they run out of those. Tempo discontinued making them a few years back. Hubby found the classic hotwheels car packages there too. And the same ones were almost $4 a piece a Walmart.
Love Dollar Tree. I always find things I need and little things I didn't even know I was wanting. It's where I always go for stocking stuffers at Christmas time. We have found an off brand of magic erasers there 2/$1.00 an we use them often on the RV. I enjoy a nice visit to the Dollar Tree.
The only things I do not buy from the dollar store, such as dollar tree or "Everythingss 99 cents" is food and cream. (Like lotions or lip gloss for the girl) If it goes in my body via my mouth or skin, I don't buy it from them, because EVERYTHING there comes from CHINA, and I just do not trust that stuff in my body. Shasta and other sodas can be got at nearly any store for $1 for the two litter bottles. Most brand name sodas are about that at most grocers, that I have seen. At least be sure to check the expiration dates. And remember, there is a reason they got the food so cheap... because kroger or walmart did not want it. WHY? Because perhaps it was not kept cold while shipping? Got wet while shipping? DUnno.... But it will be something there is not necessarily a law for right now, but I just do not trust dollar tree for food. LOOOOVE there deals, though!
Love the Dollar Tree! Get pencils, paper, stickers erasers and seasonal stuff. Always leave there was wonderful treasures for the holidays and for school.
