Yep. It is a sad day. I think it's a shame that M.J.'s death with overshadow Farrah's though.

Wow. MJ was the first pop star I remember really being aware of. Kooky guy but a pop genius.

I must admit I was very saddened to hear the sad celebrity news today and earlier this week. :(

just some of my childhood memories....

When I was little I used to watch Charlies Angels with Farrah. The older girls in my neighborhood would call me Farrah because of my hair color and they used to style it just like hers for me.

During elementary school recess some kids from my classes and I would play our Michael Jackson game. Two cute little boy twins would take turns putting on one sparkly glove and running around the playground. All the girls would chase the boy with the glove and scream.

I remember the day I visited my aunt and she had just gotten the Thriller album. I was so excited! She let my younger sister and I listen to it with her. We sat by the speakers just listening.

As a girl growing up, me and my sisters would play Charlies Angels LOL. My oldest sister was Farrah, my middle sister was Kelly and I was Sabrina. I always got the tom-boyish parts LOL. (my nickname growing up was Boy *giggle*) Remember the show Mels diner? We would play that too. Oldest sister was Flo, middle sister was Alice and of course I was the dingy one, Vera. Me and my hubby were talking about that the other day, and he said "well, now y'all can play the Golden Girls" ROFL ROFL . My dh said he didn't realize that Farrah was 62. I loved her in the movie "The Burning Bed." I remember watching it when I was in High School. Kind of a difficult show to watch, especially knowing it was based on a true story.

I still can't get over John Denver, Johnny Cash and John Ritter. Time goes so fast though.

Well I am still not over John Lennon's(my oldest was three when he was murdered) passing or my favorite Nascar driver's passing either(Dale Earnhardt Sr.).

I think we all have moments in time that individual's play a big part in even though we never meet them. For me John Lennon was a time of no worries(tween, teen) and with Dale Earnhardt, I was just realizing what a wonderful husband I have(we had just been going through some hard times, little did I know we would be going through them again in eight months),and I knew that we were going to make it through anything, because of our faith.

Yes, so sad, I feel so sorry for Michael Jackson children, I have a feeling there is going to be a mess now who gets them... poor babies..

Farrah that is so sad too, I loved all her shows.
Its a big thing down in here and in the papers she was born and raise and went to high school in Corpus Christi Texas, so there is alot going on here for her today..

When I heard Farrah passed my heart went straight to Ryan O'Neal.. and him fighting tears when he told Barbara Walters that she had agreed to marry him. Stone me if you want.. but I wasn't fond of Farrah. Mostly because she stood for everything sexual in the "mans" world, and the whole sex symbol thing annoys the crap out of me.

Micheal.. well that is just shocking. He is one of the icons of my youth... as strange as he was, and how much we all picked on him, we all loved him (even if we couldn't admit it in public because we would be chided forever...lol). I can remember in elementry school for a combined art and music class we watched the making of the Thriller video... that is one of my biggest school memories.

I was sad when Bea Arthur died...I am a huge Golden Girls fan...lol. I feel bad for the Jackson family. MJ was strange but he seemed so tortured as well...he was so sad. I was sad to hear about Farrah also.

Ava, after you wrote that about MJ I thought and thought about it and looked at pictures of him and there is not many where he looks happy.
The poor man had a rough hard life. I hope he can now rest in peace...

    Probably too soon but...

I heard that since his body is 99% plastic they melted MJ down into Lego bricks so he can play with little kids forever. :p

Yes, it is too soon. As the saying goes, "If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all."
