This is our first year homeschooling, and I was wondering if I could get some input on an affordable bible curriculum that I could use with both my 1st & 2nd grader. I have spent plenty of books & manuals (I have little to no confidence, I really want everything laid out for me for this year), so I want to spend the minimum on this but make sure it's fun. Thanks so much!
I love that one! I use pieces of it at church all the time because it's adaptable for several grade levels! Here's another, but it's not as "fun" as that one. It's mostly fill in the blank, matching, etc. It's what we're using this year. It's designed as a once a week program for 4 years, but we're doing one a day since this is mostly review (we did something similar on a PreK/K level for the past 2 years). http://www.bibleclassbooks.com/bible-curriculum.html You can use it any way you want or even as a supplement to another program. It would work well for upper elementary or middle school also.
Studying Gods Word It has everything from catechisms to Bible stories. I think its KJV (its published by Christian Liberty Press) but not entirely sure and too lazy to get up and look right now, but we really like it. This is a link to Book B but they go all the way to E
Calvary Chapel is NKJV - it's a bit easier for the kids to read/understand. Some of the answers won't fit exactly if you use KJV. Christian Liberty is KJV.
Lindina is right. Calvary Chapel is NKJV, CLP is Mostly KJV (I called their customer service once and she said they try to take everything from KJV, but they don't guarantee that everything will be KJV)
We have used Bible Study Guide for two years. I use it with my ds9, ds7, and ds4 all together. The book has all the curriculum in it so you only have to buy it once then you can purchase a separate workbook for each child. Very inexpensive and they walk through different parts of the Bible. Maps and a timeline are also available. It has been a great purchase for us www.biblestudyguide.com
