Snow is a BIG deal here in GA. And we got about 5-6 inches last night! I am pretty sure I am in the minority here when I say I hate snow. I am from New Jersey, snow is a part of winter. In May we bought a house in South Carolina to get AWAY from all the snow. We were told it only snows maybe once every 3-5 yrs and then its only an inch or so and gone by the next day. Of course, this winter my area in SC has seen not one, but THREE snow storms! We are in NJ now, so we are missing the big snow in SC, but we are about to have our third snow storm this week tomorrow. Here is a pic of my girls last winter and the reason we can't wait to move south... My backyard I will take this over snow any day!
We have about 4 feet, but no pictures to share, so just look at Jakk again. LOL. Sonita~ I didn't get to look at your pics because I don't facebook.
Oh, I think that looks GREAT!!! Though tomorrow we're expecting a good bit. I'm not looking forward to it, because I'm suppose to go to a conference on the other side of Columbus. It gets out just in time for us to drive THROUGH town during rush hour traffic. Add snow to that mix, and a fifteen minute trip can take over an hour.
Ours looks great now, but we will probably have it until mid-May. That's way to looooooong for my liking.
I am the local president of the "SNOW IS A FOUR LETTER WORD CLUB" so I too do not like the white stuff. It has been snowing here all day, but not a lot has accumulated. Hopefully it will stop soon. Love the snow pictures you all have posted though.
Wow thats good snowfall. We used to get a tonne when I was little but thanks to global warming we are seeing less and less. It all melted after Christmas and then we had one heavy snowfall of about six inches.
Northernmomma, it has nothing to do with Global Warming. Don't know what's going on your way, but we're getting more and more farther south! We've had about three good ones where I'm at; usually we're lucky to have one before Christmas, and usually only get one to three all year long. The temperature has been colder here in the winter over the last few years, too. I believe in being good stewards of the earth, but global warming is a bunch of bunk.
I too hate the snow...good thing I live in southern AZ. I went to college in northern AZ and can attest to the fact that not all of AZ is hot sunny desert. It snowed and I was miserable. Hubby wants to move to a place where it snows someday (he always tells me that I have until ds is 18 to warm up to the idea). For now, we will stick with taking weekend trips elsewhere to go play in the white stuff and then head back to our desert dwelling.
We're in the northwest suburbs of Atlanta, and we have about the same amount of snow. The big majority fell in the space of 45 minutes last night, at around 9pm. After that, the snowfall was light. We live on a hill, so children from the neighborhood have been sliding through the snow for most of the day.
I hate the snow...with a passion I hate the snow. If I wanted to play in the snow, I would go to the mountains or visit somewhere where it snows. Yes, sadly, it snows where I live...and I help contribute to global warming by standing with hot water and a blow dryer...I HATE THE SNOW!
Like Jackie said, we are expecting snow. I live farther north than Jackie and we haven't seen the grass, except for about a day, since the beginning of December. I think it will stay around awhile. By the way Jackie, our trip to Columbus has been cancelled. I will be a salt widow. (My husband drives salt & plow truck for those of you who do not know). Keep all the snow plow truck drivers in your prayers. Thanks.
I'm not surprised. Though I think it's suppose to be further south. I'm not at all excited about my conference. But it's 6:30 now, and hasn't hit yet, and original reports said it would be starting by now. Let me know when it's rescheduled. If it's not Tuesday, maybe we can meet yet!
I can handle snow. It's the coooooooold that is killing me! This has been a COLD winter. Need warmer weather. Never shoulda left Phoenix. Sigh.
THEY CANCELLED THE MEETING!!! YEAH!!!! (Well, maybe it wasn't cancelled, but at least WE backed out!!!) So I don't have to worry about driving in the bad weather during rush hour traffic!!!
Yes they have seen snow before. Right after we moved to this house we got a big snow and had to spend 2 nights ina hotel (no power, no water at home)
