A friend recently shared with me that she found a solution to her dog's destruction of toys (and the financial ramifications for having to replace them so often). She takes her daughter's ripped jeans, cuts them into strips, and knots them together. Her dog loves it, it repurposes the jeans, and it's a low-cost solution. She gets several such toys out of each pair.
I think I may need this trick. My son and husband just went to look at a Jack Russel. I know terriers are big chewers!
For clarification, she said it looks kind of like a pom pom when she's done. But I'd guess that any way you could tie them together would be fun for the dog.
Thanks for sharing. We have a 5mos old puppy (Tribble) and he is chewing terribly. He has chewed a pair DD's shoes, a blanket, his bed, and the zipper off of DH's jacket. Tribble does have many chew toys and we have replaced a few. I just went through the kid's clothes and they were several pairs of ratty jeans. Now, I know what I'm gonna do with'em!
