I've decided that I definitely should start some extreme couponing!! I know i'm soooo behind on the big awesomeness of it but right now is as good of a time as any. Anyone else here doing any coupons or even close to the extreme level? Have any of you been able to find any coupons to help with your homeschooling or home business missions?
well I often post links to printable coupons ... but I give up sometimes because I don't feel that people are interested. OK so welcome to couponing, find a good blog. My favorite is www.athriftymom.com there are several others, and I know some one will post links too. I think the TLC show called extream couponing may have made some damage to the real couponing world. my advice is, DON"T STEEL YOUR NEIGHBORS sunday newspaper , but do call your paper company and find out if they can give you any extra good deals on extra coppies. (we totally gave up on the idea of going to the grocery store or the local gas station to get the sunday paper because they seamed to have missing ads) when you print out online coupons hit the back button a few times and you will get a second coupon to print. if you yhave more than one computer and printer you can get more... organize your coupons....... this is where i have a little trouble...... but there are YOU TUBE videos on such topics. save your coupons for items that are on SALE! use a manufacture's coupon with a store coupon Print the store's coupon policy and keep them with you!! (especially wal-mart) keep your coupons in the car so you have them when you are out and about.
www.moneysavingmom.com is a good site, though I don't think it's as good as it used to be. I just wish we had more than one grocery chain.
I live in kansas city missouri and there are never any extra papers. Usually the papers that are there, don't last past 1pm
Amy, once again we love them like I said we always don't make remarks about them but we love them. Keep them coming. I do coupons to some degree here in Texas but with out many stores like other states have we don't have the choices and we have no stores that double coupon at all. So its hard to do like those ladies do on TV in the state of Texas very hard.
Ditto to both! I appreciate the coupons Amy. If you think it is hard there Kris you should try here in Alaska. We have Safeway, Fred Meyers & Walmart as our big chains and they pretty much keep everything price controled.
Same here, Amy! Not everyone will apreciate everything, but there's always plenty around who do. So don't worry about it. And sometimes I'm jumping up and down with excitement, and other times it will be something I'm not interested in. But if I'm not, someone else WILL be!
www.refundsweepers.com is a great forum, with very nice people. I've been on it since 2001. If you decide to join (there's no fee), PM me your username and I'll introduce you. They are a great bunch of women. I just wanted to mention that, because of those Extreme Couponing people, the great coupons are really hard to come by. People have taken advantage of the companies and they aren't as generous anymore. For example, whereas I would save $25/week with coupons, I now only save about $10-$15. It's mostly health and beauty. I suggest you go to Target.com and print off their coupons then stack them with manufactures. Another good place to go is CVS but you have to make sure you're not paying more overall or else its not worth going there. Visit manufacturers websites or fb pages for coupons. You can google Organic Foods+Coupons and get listings for organic and natural foods companies, if you prefer those.
Wow thanks for the great links to coupons and the awesome advice! There is a facebook group that is called "extreme couponing made simple" and they will post on there, "go to this store at this time and get this this and this and use these three coupons" but they just dont do minor coupons, they tell you how to save like 75% on everything in that purchase, its awesome!
yes well its awesome if you have room for 10 bottoles of ketchup and 15 tubes of toothpaste, but we don't we still save up to 5o% on just weekly NORMAL shopping because we plan and use regular coupons, although this week there are NO coupon inserts in the sunday paper.
Lol, I hear THAT, Amy! Right now I DO have ten containers of Tang, because they were $1 each. I've done more serious canning this year, and have been giving Carl a hard time about clearing his JUNK off of my "pantry shelf" (singular ) so I have room to put the cans. You know, if only I could clear out some of my old homeschool stuff, it might free up some space, too....
well I am Jellous, when they had TANG for $1 our store was out. I LOVE that stuff. Best stuff from my childhood. ....... I hear ya on the school stuff, except our shelves are the cheap put-together-ones from Target and I think If I took the stuff off the shelves they might fall over. ........ it really sucks when there are no coupons. but with it being a new month at least the ones from the internet are re-set
We live in Texas also and there are not any stores that double coupons here. It has been over 20 years since I saw double coupons accepted here and that was when we had Krogers. All we have here is HEB. Wal-mart, Target (and also Fiesta which is a very small chain). My mom taught me couponing and I taught my husband but now he exceeds us both in couponing. He uses in store coupons as well as manufacter's coupons. By no means is my husband an exteme couponer but his efforts saves us money. One tip we love using from the TLC show was call up food companies to inquire about trying new products and then receive their coupons in the mail for free products.
I try at HEB using there in store and the manufacters coupons and they tell me every time I can use one or other not both.
It seams odd Kris, but I read their coupon guide line and they don't take both coupons. http://www.heb.com/page/weekly-ads/ads-coupons/coupon-policy
We are a coupon household, certainly. You never know what good deal can be found eventually if you collect them here and there. So we are all for coupons.
farouk: I have sooo many coupons! I loooove them! Here is a TERRIFIC website that is absolutely the best website for tracking coupons and great deals online. I got a free pizza a couple days ago because of a tip off they gave me. http://myfrugaladventures.com/
