The IRS keeps getting worse and worse. I have filed my return on Feb 2nd. I still can not find any info about my return. (I e filed) I would not be so concerned but a few years ago we paid a tax man to do our taxes and the e file did not go though.. so I am so worried that they have not gotten them... even though I did get an acceptance email from Turbo Tax saying they were received. LOL... I know that the IRS is behind (no surprise there!) but I just wish for my peace of mind that I could get some info from them... and I am too scared to call the IRS!
I filed on Feb. 2, and it was accepted the same day. We did not show up on the IRS site at all until Friday (way over the 72 hours they say it takes!!). We are supposed to have our refund Feb. 22. I've heard lots of people are not getting them on the scheduled day this year. This is the longest it's taken in several years.
They told us by the 22nd and we got ours on the 13th....wonder if there really is any rhyme or reason to it.
According to the e-file schedule, we should have received ours on the 15th, but we still weren't showing up in the system at that time (though it was accepted on the 2nd). I've heard there are new prodedures in place to cut down on IRS fraud, and that is making some returns take longer. We don't even itemize so I'm thinking ours shouldn't have gotten caught up in that.
I did not itemize either, it should have been simple! My return is not showing up on the system at all... still... I am wondering why this is happening... My husband seems to think that it may be cause we are expecting a huge chunk back that may be why the long wait, but I don't think this should matter. btw, the irs return system is down right now... wonder why... is it updating or just plain down....
Our tax man told us that due to the new system the IRS put in place, MANY people are having problems with returns. The day we filed, the IRS completely shut down its system for the day because their computers were not adding up correctly due to the changes. By evening, they had everything up and running again so hopefully people will no longer have problems. This was a few days ago.
did ours on a Thursday and in our bank by Tuesday but we didn't get much back.. but thank God we didn't pay.
logged into the IRS this morning and I finally have a projected date....get this.... MARCH 6th... .. So much for the IRS processing things faster this yr! btw, learned that people who filed between Feb 2 to 7th are the ones with the delays and issues... ...
Oh man. You guys are making me feel guilty. I never seem to get mine done until April! I'm hoping next year will finally be the year that it gets less complicated. We've lived in one state worked in another for years. Then buying and selling houses. Ugh. I dread doing them. At least doing the FAFSA this year forced me to get them started.
Don't worry! I would not have done ours if not for my husband hounding me to get them done... Now, Look where its gotten him...... a very long wait! :lol:
