We have had an ongoing debate for years now. There is this sign outside of the desert museum we go to often. Each time we go and are leaving/entering the parking lot, we see this sign and debate what the circular item is. What do you think they are feeding the coyote? I will leave it open-ended to not sway answers.

I think it's a Ritz cracker... but why on earth would a coyote want a cracker, around here the coyotes prefer to eat chickens and wild turkey and other small animals.

My first thought was a ritz cracker, but getting creative, it could be a shrunken head, a gigantic ladybug, or a piece of pepperoni? LOL!

Dh says a cookie, I say it's a Ritz cracker. I am confused as to why you would feed that to a coyote though!

So, dh and I have always said Ritz cracker and ds has said chocolate chip cookie since he was old enough to discuss it. The funny thing is that those are always the two choices others come up with as well.

My kids say it's a cookie, and I say it's a cracker. LOL we're split here too! LOL

However, why would a coyote want either?

...because the people designing the sign felt it was in poor taste to have a kitty with a bite taken out of it...? :D

As to the why would you feed that to a coyote, or just in general "why"? People love to feed wildlife whether it be birds, squirrels, or as you may have approaching in this area, coyotes. And, not just kids...there are some crazy adults in the world who approach wild animals just as kids do. As to why a cracker or cookie, I guess it is something everyone can relate to and you may have in a lunch sack. Not many people carry around hunks of meat (and you may have a hard time illustrating that one) or kitties like Jackie mentioned:lol:. So, at the spot, more people voted my way. On facebook, more people voted for the cookie which made ds very happy. So, if you are thinking one way, ask your kids (without giving any options) and see if they think the same as you. It seems like odds are they will choose cracker or cookie. Maybe they will be creative and see a ladybug, shrunken head, or pepperoni.:)

My first thought was a hand (that just happen to be holding a cracker). But I am terrified of wild animals so I think differently than most. Don't even get me started on mountain lions or bears!

All three of my olders said, "cookie." But, to be fair, I don't think they know what a Ritz cracker is.

My kids say cracker as well.

Oh Jackie, I needed that laugh. (but any time my cat is out at night I'm terrified the coyotes are going to get him... or an owl, an owl almost got him a year or so ago, it was terrifying for hubby who just happened to be out with the dogs to see this owl coming after the cat who was running down the driveway to him)

The two of my kids that were around said cookie. We don't buy Ritz crackers often, so I'm not sure if that would come to mind for them at all.
