We went to Mardel's yesterday to pick up the workbook for anatomy, but when we got there, we found that there is a new chemistry & physics combo book! Woo-hoo! http://shop.apologia.com/79-chemistry-and-physics
Awesome! I knew it was in the works, but didn't know when it would be out. I think I know what science we'll be doing next year. lol
We are actually using that this year with our co-op. The one thing I can say there are lots of experiments and short try its in this book. Some of them come in the middle of reading so you do the try it and then she discusses the results.
Funny timing. I just mentioned this book in another thread. Mine should be here Monday. (We just finished Botany.) Anatomy is next year. I have heard the same thing lost of good experiments!
 Funny you mention that... as we were driving home, I asked ds to find the supply list for lesson 1 and let me know if there was anything we'd need. I thought he was joking when he started reading it! He went on and on and on and... yeah. Insane. I told him we'd do some of the experiments, but definitely not all of them.
We've never done them all even this year when I ordered a boxed supply kit. I always pick and choose experiments.
Most of them are really short things but there are a ton of them. There are even more ideas in the journal. We do a couple at home and then she does a few at co-op so it works well.
From where do you get your box kit? I ordered one for Zoology 1 from Home Science Tools, but it only had a couple of items from each experiment and I still had to go get a lot of things for any one experiment.
I ordered our Botany kit from Rainbow Resources. There was very little not included. It even had the paper towels, aluminum foil, color pencils, notebook, ruler, magnifying glass, string, you name it. They don't have one for the new book yet so I guess I'll be winging that one. It was expensive but it was nice to just go pull the bag for that lesson and it was all ready. (Each lesson's supplies are packed into a unit of their own.)
WOW! Yeah, I'd be willing to pay a little more to have everything ready. My poor boys.. we'll go two weeks or more without doing a single hands-on activity because I forget (or don't have time) to get supplies.
