Ok my husband was on the edge because it's unfamiliar ground. So I promised not to "screw up the kids" and he agreed to let me homeschool for the year!! I actually feel a breath of relief with this decision! He did say absolutely not for highschool - but I have awhile before we get there  I think it got him when I actually said I thought we were being a little selfish just wanting the private time. for ourselves. Plus it was denying them a lot of outside opportunities by going to public school - they were actually socializing less because of our living situation and that wasn't fair to them at all. So I can't spend a fortune (already have the entire cirriculum for the year - just need a few extras here and there).... and I'm extremely happy I won't be sending them back this year.
way to go... I hope things go great for you all and dh will see how will it's going and ask you to keep it up.
Awesome news! My dh said the same thing about hs during the high school years; but again, we too have time to work on it. I'll just point out how much we both hated high school, so why should our children go through it. It helps so much when hubby is on your side - YAY!
You will have your dh convinced by the time high school rolls around! My dh wasn't so sure until I started telling him that the kids could be getting some college credits by taking classes at the university, and then I showed him some of the books and things I have found online and he was totally convinced!
Well of course we had a completely awful morning with grumpy kids So he's rolling his eyes but he can't go back now.....LOL It'll be fun.... on top of it - AOP exchanged the SOS stuff so my son's 5th grade history and science just came in today and even he can't wait to see what's in it. Now to find a cool unit study for science for both kids to work on - I want to do an experiment ..... I mean I want to teach my kids something about science.....
lol. The best part of homeschooling is all the fun stuff you get to do with your kids as part of their education.
