Let's here some of your favorite sites for homeschooling information, or printables or whatever! I'll start... www.atozteacherstuff.com I like the search feature to find lots of places to check out when we start a new thematic unit. www.abcteach.com For printables. I subscribed to abcteachit, it is worth it, even for homeschoolers. www.enchantedlearning.com For most anything! Printables, quizzes, lots! Animals, countries, inventors and inventions, plants, more than I can mention! http://www.scottbryce.com/mathwork/ Math worksheets with a lot of choices you pick. http://www.freethings4educators.com/kto5.html Every so often they update and email you with a list of things of interest to teachers, and free! http://www.learningpage.com/ Printable language, math worksheets by theme (dinosaur, insect, reptile, more) for preK-3rd grade levels. Lots of pages, free! You subscribe, but it is free. That's it for now! How about you?
I tend to just search for what we need (apart from checking a couple you mentioned first). For anything we are really interested in there is someone who has made a site! I think that this approach helps the kids develop an ability to judge the crediblity of sites, too. www.janbrett.com is a great favourite for printables.

Here's some that haven't been listed yet: http://themathworksite.com/ (This one lets you make custom math worksheets; it was created by a home school Dad!) www.donnayoung.org (This one has lots of forms; I know some of you use it, too!) http://www.dltk-cards.com (You can do custom-made chore charts here, along with other stuff.) http://puzzlemaker.school.discovery.com/ (This one lets you cutom make word search puzzles, and has lots of other puzzles, too. Great to use with your spelling or vocabulary lists!)
I will post the ones I can quickly remember and as I find more, I'll post them. http://www.calvarychapel.org/children.org/children/site/curriculum.htm http://www.gardenofpraise.com/bibleles.htm http://www.abcteach.com http://www.atozteacherstuff.com http://www.nvnet.org.nvhs/edresource http://www.street.ns.ca/ciric.html http://www.busyteachercafe.com/index.html http://www.namb.info/evangelism/mev/Family/children_leaders_teachers.asp http://www.childrensministry.net/ http://www.kjvmail.com/homeschool.html http://www.joycenter.on.ca/menujs.html? http://www.lessonplanz.com http://www.home-school.teacherspecialty.com/home.php If you check any of these sites out and they won't work for you, let me know so I can correct the address (if it's wrong). Lots of fun things on the websites. Have fun! Brenda (B)I had to edit the nvet web address I had previously given - when I had tried to link to it, the web page wouldn't load. When you go to the corrected website that I just edited, go to the "find it fast section" and look for "free printables", you will be linked to the page I originally gave(/B)
Here's a site I stumbled onto. I don't know much about it yet other than it is a site full of complete literary works including catagories like general literature, philosophy, Shakespeare, etc. They are printable, public domain books and they have study guides available for most of them. You might have to pay for the study guides, not sure yet, but I thought it was kinda cool to have a site like this available, especially for parents homeschooling teens. http://www.sparknotes.com/texts/
Well, that didn't take long. I just picked the first book on one of the lists (The Adventures of Tom Sawyer) and clicked on the study guide. It lists general overview, themes, symbolism, chapter-by-chapter overviews, questions and answers for comprehension and suggestions for essay writing, and further reading suggestions.....and I only listed part of what was available.....for free! Wow! Cool site! http://www.sparknotes.com/texts/
Michelle, Jeannie and I are doing The Great Plant Escape right now! I thought I recognized that link.
www.academickids.com - Complete online encyclopedia kind of a kids wikipedia has great info for all ages www.edhelper.com - you name it...you will find it here, free to join then print off all the lessons you want excellent for supplimenting curriculum
I am not allowed to post links yet, but my sister uses this for her daughter: funbrain you know what to put before it and after it! Alicia
