Home school, private school, no school, or what? Mine have said the following in response to the age old question kids always ask " Where do you go to school?" - I don't go to school. - I school at home. _ I just do homework - my mom teaches me - I don't go OUT to school I just stay home and do school work. - Oh, I am homeschooled, so I don't go to school I just DO school at home. Sometimes humorous and sometimes agrevating what do your kids say?
Have you given your homeschool a name? They could say " We attend xxxxxxxx Academy" or something like that. When they ask "Oh where is that?" You could just say the town where you live. This is what we have decided to start doing.
Ems usually tells people that she is homeschooled. A few times, in the early days, she said that she did not go to school.:| Boy, you should have seen people's faces when she used to say that. Patty
we are Agape Academy since the begining of our days of schooling at home, I tell the kids they can say I go to Agape Academy private school, since that is what we are registered as and keeps some of the questions and strange looks from the kids faces. Now that homeschool is in the media a lot more kids know what it is, but different ages kids get different reactions too.
Samantha tells people she is homeschooled but usually only when asked. She doesn't volunteer the info.
Vicki say I'm homeschooled. She doesn't care if people like it or not. She will tickle you with it. Sometimes she has even said I'm homeschooled duh!
My son started telling people he goes to Home Elementary...LOL. Mostly they either say they are homeschooled or they don't go to school.
My son tells people he is homeschooled. We just named our homeschool. 241 Homeschool. When we raced motorcross that was our race team as well. 241 is my son race number. The reason we decided to use this is because his dad and I are the 2 and we are doing it for 1 So that given us 241. ok enough about us. Maybe think of a name for your school.
mine kinda like saying that, too, for the most part but over the years it has been fun! ds16 now, used to be imbarrassed to say we homeschooled hes the one who came up with the most unusual things haha Now that its popular its easier to say it and people know what you mean. Back when we started most people thought we were weird hahah okay so maybe we ARE weird but gee
Ds usually says, "I want to go to school with Mama" if someone brings it up. That or loam school. haha
Mine will say they are homeschooled. I like the idea of naming our school xxxxxx academy. Could be some sort of learning to be done while picking out a name, I am sure...
We have a school name, but they don't ever say, "We go to Lighthouse Christian Academy", they just say "We Homeschool."
We have a school name, too. We don't really need one, I just thought it would be fun. I don't think my kids have ever used our school name. They just say "we're homeschooled." We'd probably get strange looks even if they did say the school name: Valeria Iona Academy.
It depends. If dd wants to tease she says she doesn't go to school. If she's feeling less contrary she just says she's homeschooled.
I was flipping through the Dictionary of Superstitions one day. Valeria comes from the Valerian plant (I chose it because it sounded cool), and Iona is from the Iona stone. The Iona stone is a greenish stone found on the shores of western Scotland & is believed to have the power to grant wishes (again I chose because it sounded cool). Basically, it just sounded like an interesting name & I was pretty sure no one else would choose the same name for their 'school'.
