I have a friend who would swear under oath that after about 3 months she HAS to switch deodorant because it will stop working for her then, no matter what kind it is. I don't know what else to tell you. Have you been eating something different lately?

I'd switch dederants.... also at bath and body works they sell little wipes that are scented, to keep fresh during the day.

I have to switch deodorants, but mainly because I get tired of the same scent after awhile. I think maybe you should examine your diet. Have you being eating more meat than you normally do? Have you made any drastic changes in diet? I had this happen to me a few years ago...seemed no matter what I did shower multiple time, deodorant, nothing worked. I happened to be doing a lemon detox at the time. After about a week it went away.

The reason I asked about your meat consumption is because I have friends that swear that after they quit eating meat they no longer needed deodorant. I know my husband changed his diet and he hasn't worn any in over a month. Weird how the body works huh??? Anyway, just some ideas for you :)

Do you drink much water? If not try increasing your intake of water to see if that helps.

    Don't shoot me...

Are you sure it is not your nose?
I ask, not to be funny, but because it is a legitimate question.

When my mother gets her chronic sinus infections (Usually minor but annoying) she gets smells stuck in her nose. It drives her batty but it is NOT her body odor, it is the ordor of the infection itself.

Sorry to be so graphic, but it is a possibility.

Just remembered something else! ZINC! Zinc is a really important vitamin and I know sometimes with zinc deficiencies people will have problems with body odor, etc.

Unfortunately it isn't that. I have been stuffy and my nose bothering me, but I got into a car wreck a few days ago, and I think it's from that, as weird as that sounds. DH has kindly told me I stink....

That might be a possibility, I was taking a multi vitamin but stopped because I would get headaches every night.

I do drink a decent amount of water, but maybe I should drink more.

    Thanks guys!!

    Until you find the source:

Deodorants are mostly anti-antiperspirants anymore. That means they really only work to stop your body from sweating. If that's not working, then I would try a true deodorant. Those are hard to come by anymore. I buy them at health food stores. In your case, I'd wear a regular deodorant then spray the true deodorant all over. The true deodorants are designed to neutralize your body odor, not stop you from sweating. Think of them as Fabreeze for the body (but without the heavy perfumey smell).

Thanks Amie, I did call a health store, and the guy said there's too many things it could be and that he couldn't help. I think I will try going and getting "true deodorant." Hopefully it's just that.

I still think powder would help... that is what we do for my MIL when she is having bad smells and it works well. The doctor is the one that told s to do it...

My friend has the same problem you are having. She has to use prescription deodorants from the doctor. They are a lot stronger. She tried everything. She also has to wash her armpits a couple times a day.

I'll try the powder. I love putting baby powder in my shoes, especially sandals.

Patty, I didn't know they can write prescriptions for deodorant! That's good to know. It's weird, I was sweaty yesterday, just smelled like a skunk!

Secret has a new clinical strength deodorant. It's supposed to be prescription strength. You might try it.

I used to work for a dermatologist and he recommended a product called Certain Dry for people who had severe sweating issues. I have a friend who used it before but quit shortly after starting. It completely stopped the sweating. It scared him quite a bit. Goodluck!!

Just be very VERY careful with anything (including regular old anti-antiperspirants) that reduce the amount that you sweat. God designed us to sweat. It's how our body rids itself of many toxins in addition to being how it keeps itself cool enough to function.
