For all you guys from Texas I just found this on someone's blog. It is HS day at Washington on the Brazos State Park. We went in March to the independence day celebration and had a blast. Ooohhh.. We LOVE Washington-on-the-Brazos! This probably won't work for us this year since the little dd is in ps and dh doesn't have vacation time yet, but next year..!
The girls had fun last time we were there and they love to have a picnic there at the playground by the river. We could easily make a day trip out of it or we could stay at my parents house. When I look over our shcool schedule I get excited! We have so many really amazing day and weekend field trips planned. Some pertain to our lessons and some don't but either way they are fun and you learn something new.
my older cousin, her baby and i are going to go to the homeschool day at the fort worth zoo and i couldnt be more excited !
i know i cant wait the last time i went to the zoo, my school went on a feild trip to the dallas zoo and it was like a week before that gorilla escaped and lets say i havent been back since haha. i dont even think ive been to the ft. worth zoo so it should be fun !
Our group is already talking about doing this. We did it several years ago and had fun. The other fun one is Oil Ranch http://www.oilranch.com/ it can be crazy in the morning when the public schools are there but...they all headed out around 11a.
