Jennifer, on my 'free social studies and science units' thread, you said you liked what you saw on those sites. EL has so much good stuff to pair with the K,1st, and 2nd grade ss units on the site I posted.

Me, I'd pass on abcteach if I had to choose. They did a free access period some time ago, and I found no difference between the quality of the always free stuff and the paid stuff. EL is just amazing with all the stuff they have.

Yesterday I basically talked myself into joining, because it does have a lot of useful K stuff for my dd. But last night, I had to use the money to buy medical stuff for my son instead. It's controversial so I hope it was worth it.

I really do want to subscribe to EL. But I will probably have to wait a few weeks now. That means it's going to be even harder designing my own "beginner zoology" curriculum. But that's life I guess, expenses seem to all happen at once lol. But the second I can, I'll talk myself into subscribing lol.

IS that Beginning Zoology for a K? I would work mostly on classifying animals. Amphibians, repitles, birds, fish, mammals. That kind of thing. You could do a full week on each classification. Cut pictures out of magazines, or goodle image search for them online.

I have been hesitant about becoming a member of this site but you all make it sound wonderful!
I think I will try it. It sounds like it will be a big help with our lapbooks and unit studies.
