Please do not read the following if you are sensitive. It is very disturbing.

I found out last night that one of my husband's co-workers has a baby cousin that is fighting for his life. This little boy is 10 months old. He was with a babysitter that beat him horribly. This child was thrown into a wall and his injuries are so severe that they don't know if he will live or die. Please keep this family in your prayers. I will update as soon as I know more.

How sad, I don't get how people can do these kind of things to children. I will be praying for sure.

That is just horrible. I can't imagine. Please keep us updated. I hope the babysitter will be held responsible.

Praying here for that little one. I just can't stand it that people do this to anyone let alone little children.

A very similar story was in our paper just this week. How can you possibly handle a baby like that?

You know, this is a side off topic but I wanted to comment on how you handled this thread.

    THANK YOU.

I know that beofre my DH's accident that I would have said it was just silly that people would have to be warned about such stuff.

But since then my sesitivities are through the roof and I truely apreciate your warning. I know it is corney to say so, But thank you.

I have become one of those who have become so sensitive, almost overly empathetic to others suffering and until I learn to deal with it, having notices really does make a difference.

So, as silly as it may seem thank you for prefacing it with a warning.

    And yes, it is disturbing.

We had a shaken baby in foster care once and it was so heart breaking to know that a once perfect 8 month old baby girl was damaged for life. Half or more of her brain was destroyed. It was so hard to let her go back to her mother but she had not been the one to hurt the child. How can someone shake or throw an infant like that? Lay them down, walk away and calm down if you are overwhelmed, let them cry even but don't hit them. Still praying for the little one and his family. Beth

You are most certainly welcome! I know that when I was pregnant with my dd this would have sent me into a crying fit for days. I would have been unable to sleep or eat because of this story. You never know how something may hit someone.

We found out yesterday that the baby will probably survive this horrible injury. His quality of life is uncertain at this point. The babysitter is admitting to this and is in jail.
I must admit that I can't imagine ever hurting my children. I have put them in their cribs and walked away when I am feeling overwhelmed (which is seldom).
I really don't understand a babysitter doing this. As a babysitter (a 24 year old babysitter nonetheless), you know that there is an end in sight.
    Keep praying!

I understand getting frustrated when a baby is fussy and crying or screaming and won't stop! But doing something like this..........well, I just can't imagine!

    I'm still praying too!
