YES!!! Very simple. I'm going to try and tell you how it goes, but not sure I can.

The beat is a simple 4/4, with every syllable getting one beat, except for the last syllable of Saturday getting two.

    Sunday, Monday
    Tuesday, Wednesday,
    Thursday, Friday
    Sa-tur-day!

    Notes are as follows

    CDEC,
    DEFD,
    EFGF,
    EDC

Does that make sense to you? I don't know how else to tell you!

    How about-

This is the way we make our bed,
    make our bed, make our bed;
This is the way we make our bed
    So early Monday morning.

I don't know if I remember the original words anymore- I've adapted it so many times for three kids!! We have "matched our socks", "grocery shop", "bake the bread", "feed the dog", "go to church". "pick the weeds", "sweep (or mop) the floor", "take a bath"- our list changed as we changed!!

    Hope that helps...

I don't know anything about music notes or beats, but for some reason I am singing the tune from "Happy Days." LOL

Hey this is going to help me teach Grace as well. Thankfully I do know music so I am going to get out the kids keyboard later and teach her this! She is alway so confused about the days. She thinks "one day" is an actual day! Like she'll ask if we can go live in the country and I say "Yes, one day we will" and she thinks that is a day of the week.

    Hi
My son (6) and daughter (3) seem to like Dr. Jean cds, which teach days of the week, months, alphabet, letter sounds and other such things. I found the cds at our public library. Also, Dr. Jean has a website and you can order the cds. Personally, I can't stand Dr. Jean's voice, but my kids seem to like the songs, so I put up with it. Our local school also uses these cds for teaching.

    I hope this helps.

    Days of the Week

Here is how we learned our days of the week:

    On Monday I am happy
    On Tuesday full of joy
On Wednesday I've got peace within that no one can destroy
On Thursday and Friday I'm walking in the light
Saturday is a heavenly sight and
    Sunday's always bright

I believe there is a Sunday School song that is somewhat similar, but this is what we ended up with!

I used The Addams Family song to teach Jeannie.

Days of the week- snap, snap.Days of the week-snap, snap.
Days of the week, days of the week, days of the week- snap, snap.

    There's Sunday and there's Monday.
    There's Tuesday and there's Wednesday.
There's Thursday and there's Friday, and then there's Saturday.

Right now it's Thursday afternoon, right now it's Thursday afternoon, right now it's Thursday afternoon, September 13, 2007.

Becky, I like the Adams Family one. I think I will try that with Gianna. Elijah had a hard time learning them and then one day - the light bulb came on. I think it was 2nd grade:eek:

These are all great ideas - I'll have to check out those links! Here's what we've been doing, in case anyone is scouting the thread (like I am LOL):

This is a little ditty my oldest learned at VBS this year. I just changed it to fit what we're doing instead of the foodstuff they had. I *THINK* it goes to a fairly familiar tune, but for the life of me I can't call it. We start with whatever today is, and talk about our schedule:

Today is Thursday. Today is Thursday. Thursday - science! Is everybody happy? Well, I should say!

Tomorrow's Friday. Tomorrow's Friday. Friday - park! (pa-ark) Thursday - science! Is everybody happy? Well, I should say!

Then is Saturday. Then is Saturday. Saturday - let's play! Friday - park! Thursday - science! Is everybody happy? Well, I should say!

Next is Sunday. Next is Sunday. Sunday - church! (chu-urch) Saturday - let's play! Friday - park! Thursday - science! Is everybody happy? Well, I should say!

Then is Monday. Then is Monday. Monday - Dad's home! Sunday - church! Saturday - let's play! Friday - park! Thursday - science! Is everybody happy? Well, I should say!

Next is Tuesday. Next is Tuesday. Tuesday - school! (schoo-ool) Monday - Dad's home! Sunday - church! Saturday - let's play! Friday - park! Thursday - science! Is everybody happy? Well, I should say!

Last is Wednesday. Last is Wednesday. Wednesday - swimming! Tuesday - school! Monday - Dad's home! Sunday - church! Saturday - let's play! Friday - park! Thursday - science! Is everybody happy? Well, I should say!

PS - After clicking the links above, this tune is the same as the one in the third link!
