Anyone see Micheal Vick's apology. What a load of junk. The guy wasn't sorry until he got caught. Would he have come to the conclusion that breaking the law is immoral and apologize of his own free will had he not been caught? Who knows. I doubt it though. He apologized because he had to. Anyone can make an apology for 4 1/2 minutes and still not mean a word of it. lol.

AvaRose, yes I seen it. I bet if he didn't get caught he would still be doing it today.

I find his free use of the word "mistake" very disturbing. This word is abused so much in our current society. A mistake is turning down the wrong road or using a wrong word. A thought out action, such as killing dogs, is not a mistake, it is direct action, with intent. Saying that he made a mistake, drastically simplifies his actions.

They were talking on Glenn Beck last night about how if thee's anything in a player's past they should not be allowed to play, that there should be a standard.

I find the whole "animal fight" thing appauling.

When traveling to certain islands and I believe in Mexico, Cock fighting is popular. When in Spain, the same is true for bull fighting, which I would not go near. I just don't see the sport in this sort of thing, it's disgusting.

But I agree, people who have done a lot worst i.e. domestic abuse, child abuse, ect. have gotten less publicity as well as punishment. Speaks to the sad state of our country and it's moral fiber as well as the influence of money and power.

When the story comes on the tv, I can't even listen to it or watch it. Sadly, I'm sure Vic isn't alone in this choice of barbic "entertainment" among his peers and other pro players/celebrities. Reminds me of the ancient arena's of Rome...:(

I am not looking forward to supportiing Mr. Vick, a multi-millionaire, if he does go to prison. He is capable of doing much more to redeam himself while on the outside prison of walls rather than behind them. He is not exactly a threat to society as most who are incarcerated.

Our society puts more value on an animal's well being and life than on human life. I know of child molesters who didn't spend a day in jail, drug-pushers who were told by law enforcement to leave the state and they would be safe from prosecution, child abusers who were allowed to continue to abuse their own children after countless reports and actual findings of abuse and women who lost their life by the hand of their husband, because their husband's status was more worthy of protection than her life.

So my opinion my not be socially acceptable and that is just fine with me. I am far more willing for my tax dollars to keep the above mentioned locked in prison safely away from my family, than Michael Vick.

Don't get me wrong, I have two dogs of my own that I absolutley adore and I agree he deserves severe punishment fitting to his crime. Creative sentencing is definitly in order for this case, have him spend a large portion of his time and a great deal of money to care for the needs of animals like the ones he abused for at least as long as he was envolved in this so called sport. Save the prison cell for the pedophile or murderer.

Forgive me if someone mentioned this, but nowhere have I read someone saying how he got rid of the dogs that lost in the fights. This is the part that disgusts me the most...the way he killed the losing dogs. He drowned them, shot them, hung them, you name it. THAT to me, is more inhumane. Poor things. They did nothing wrong, yet suffered at the hands of a cold blooded heartless moron.
