How does everyone keep up with their grades? Do you use a program, or do you create your own?

Last year I had one called Gradebook. This year I was looking for something new/different.

I don't do daily grades. I do keep up with all test grades though. I print a grade sheet and use it. :)

Well, last year we used alot of Abeka and even though I made up my own grading sheet, it was based on the one they provide.
This year, as we've become alot more eclectic and are going with a much more relaxed approach, I'm not even sure what we'll do about grades. I don't actually plan to do much testing with Ashley.
So, I guess I should have just kept my mouth shut, as I don't really have a good answer! Sorry! :?

The only thing I really keep track of grades are with my oldest one's math. Though this year, I might keep a bit more, because she's 6th grade age-wise, and I figure I need to get in the habit for highschool transcripts soon.

I use homeschool tracker the free edition. Plus, I have a gradebook sheet that I print off of a site for free so that I have a paper copy right in front of me.

I don't keep daily grades, either. I record all the test grades in my lesson plan book. It has everything I need in it, except my log sheet (hours spent in school - state requirement), which I print off a website and keep in the plan book.

    Blessings,

It is required to keep grade records in my state. I do grade each day's work. I assign grades differently according the subject. For example, in chemistry 35% of the grade is based on the lab work and 65% of the grade is based on test scores. Some subjects, like grammar, have much more daily work than tests so I average in the daily scores along with the tests.

I make up my own record sheets for each 9 week grading period. At the end of the year I summarize everything on a final grade report.

When they to get high school level, recordkeeping becomes very time-consuming. It is important to keep everything on record for their transcript. I've been checking out college requirements over the summer and some of the colleges really require a lot of documentation for homeschoolers. I have not only grades for #1ds, but also records of daily lessons, credits earned, and course descriptions with lists of materials used.

For those of you still with young ones, you have a lot to look forward to! :-D
