3 here: 16 ~ 9th grade 8 ~ (soon to be 9) 4th grade 3 ~ loving distraction I was wondering what these "lapbooks" are that I have seen some ppl mention that they are using for thier youngest ones?
Smiling Dawn-I am also in Wisconsin. I am homeschooling my almost 7 year old son (1st grade) and my almost 4 year old daughter (pre-k).
I don't want to say my exact location, but I will say that I live in between Madison, WI and Rockford, IL. I was born and raised here. I only moved away to college for a few years and then I returned. That's cool that you were born and raised here too.
Officially schooling 2 of the 3 DD - will be 8 on 10/20 is 3rd grade. DS - who just turned 6 in Sept is 1st grade. My DD who is 2 1/2 sort of goes along with what ever- it's funny, she's memorized all the stuff my DS needs to for his L/A she'll walk around reciting the poems and stuff! SO FUNNY maybe that will make life easier when the time comes for her, huh? LOL
Officially 3- 6th, 3rd and 1st grades. I also have a 3yo that works when she wants to, but nothing official with her.
And I live somewhere North and East of your general direction given... Hi! I like WI for homeschooling! My almost 4 year old ds is learning by leaps and bounds, too. He learns alot from Leap Frog...magnets on the frig, videos, the little battery operated game that has him learning his letters and spelling words, and a card game.
thats ok I understand I lived in Rockford IL for years taking care of my sil who had brain cancer so I think I know where you are at. Yes, I have family all over that area, you more then likely ran into some of them or my friends.
I am schooling my older 2 mainly, grade 3 and 4, my preschooler goes to prschool 5 half days a week, and then I do stuff with him when he is home, his current favorite is patterning
I am homeschooling my two boys. My nine year old is in the 4th grade, and my five year old is doing a very relaxed approach to kindergarten!
I homeschool all four of our kids- DS (will be 11 next week) in 5th DS (9.5) in 4th DS (will be 7 next month) in 1st DD (wil be 5 in January) in K
Homeschooled all 3 of mine for many years, now homeschooling the younger two because my oldest and my dh and I found a wonderful mission oriented school that he is now attending. We miss him, but he is having some great experiences! Homeschooling only two seems quite a bit easier! Mine are ds16 (highschool Jr.), ds14(9th grade) and dd10(6th). That's the grades we say, but they are doing whatever levels they need to work on...
I'm officially schooling my 4 year old Emma (she's at a 1st grade level) and my 2 year old Eli is starting to learn to identify letters and their sounds. Amy
