Thanks! It turns out that A Pocket for Corduroy is now his favorite book. I have read it to him at least 12 times this afternoon--no exaggeration. And now he is in the living room "reading" it to himself!

lol.. we have a really simple book called Otto.. my 2 year old will have you read it to her over and over and over. She actually knows the entire book and can tell you the story word for word. Her favorite part is a page that Otto (who is a robot from outerspace and runs out of gas) crashes on his head and the page says "BOINK".. she runs around and bonks her head on the floor and yells "BOINK"!

Jen, what a wonderful job you all did. Wasn't that a lot of fun? So colorful, too. Can't wait to see your next one. We have done the Egyptian Mummy and Ants, next one we do will be flowers.

Come on everyone, make a lapbook and post it, it gives us lots of ideas.

It was fun! In a couple of weeks we are going to do Goodnight Moon. I found a great example on someone's web page. I am totally NOT creative, but I can copy!

that is so cute and how much fun was that?

Gives me some ideas to do lapbooks for something other than science and history.

You guys did a good job!

I love Corduroy, One of my favorites and I'm 36. My son loves winnie the pooh. He is 12 and will not part with any of his pooh books, (also one of my favorites) He has always been my little pooh bear!!(not so little any more but still reminds me of pooh!)
The lapbook is great! A BIG thumbs up to your ds!!

Thanks! The Bible verse I was just going to use the little pocket from Homeschool Share, but then I saw it done as a heart somewhere else, and it was easier, so I went with that. The story cards, different types of houses book, the fill in the blank thing, and my address book are all from HSS or linked from there. For the fill in the blank thing I just re-typed it and found clip art to go with the words since he can't read. If anyone is doing this, I would be glad to email it to you. The buttons and the toy guessing game were my ideas--I SOMETIMES have a couple. Rarely, though! And the stuff on the cover I just copied from the book covers and he glued on. Did I mention how much he loved the glue?

And he is still loving the Pocket for Corduroy book like crazy. Last night I put him in the car at bedtime so I could run out and get dinner for me and dh. He took the book with him and was trying to look at it under the streetlights!

Also, I meant to add that as I was thinking last night, I decided if I had had more time (we are leaving town today) I would do something with coins and different fabric swatches. So I made a not for the next kid!
