I've been lurking here for a few days now, and I realized that it was just silly, and I should join in on the fun. I just graduated from college and got married this spring. My husband and I don't plan to have children for a couple of years yet, so I really have, oh about 7 or 8 years until I actually start homeschooling. I suppose you could call me a planner, lol. In reality, I'm fascinated by the flexibility and opportunities which homeschooling can provide, and I'm interested in learning more about it. I figure there is no better way to learn than hearing the experiences of people who are living it day to day. I hope to get to know you all better! ~Annie
Annie, WELCOME! I think it's great that you're planning ahead! I wish I'd known about homeschooling before my first went to K and 1st! My other two have always been homeschooled. I wish you the best in your marriage, jobs, and joy when you have children!
My dh knew I wanted to homeschool before we were married. Nothing wrong with considering your options now and making decisions on what you think is best! (Besides, babies learn from Day One, not on the day the "officially" start kindergarten!)
What an early start it is...lol Welcome to the board! I had thought of homeschooling my oldest from the time he was in the womb, but for many reasons I sent him off to kindergarten.. he went to ps for K and 1st, he was bored to death there and constantly in trouble for silly things.. we brought him home for 2nd grade and have decided unless they beg and plead and have just reasons for it, none of our kids will go to ps again. If you have any questions feel free to ask.. almost always someone on here has "been there or done that". Just a warning though.. we are a little biased..lol.
Welcome!! I hadn't even considered homeschooling before a couple of years ago - so you will be MUCH better prepared than many of us!
Hello and Welcome!!! We decided we were going to homeschool Ems since she was born. After sending our older girls through the system, we knew that homeschooling was the best option for us. Patty
Welcome! The gals around here really know what they are talking about. I have gotten tons of info from them. Grab a notebook and keep track of ideas and websites and you will be ready to go by the time you start.
welcome!!! we are parents of 3 children (4,2,1) and a fosterchild (5) who lives with us for a while. Homeschooling in The Netherlands, Europe (only the youngest 3, the fosterchild needs to go to ps by law) Our oldestwas 4 months when we first heard about hs and we thought we were early.
