Is anyone doing anything special with the kids besides the regular school things? I am needing new ideas. We did the oregon trail westward ho last year and it was great. Loved it all. Got together with a few families and studied it more. We are going to do planets and stars in Oct.
Not here. I decided that this year we would not do theme studies except for the holidays. So, we now have more time to do our book work. I was trying to do all the book work PLUS do a ton of theme activities and it just wore me out.
We are also doing planets and stars in October. I am not 100% sure what all we will be doing. My kids said this is something they wanted to learn about so I have less then a month to figure it out. lol I know that we are going to do the solar system out of styrofoam balls but that is about it.
We don't do to many units just to many other things going on. Unless one of the girls say something I want to learn more on this then we do it if not no we just do the books and the holidays.
We are doing dinosaurs from proteacher.com. I have some odds and ends from other sites, like songs and fingerplays. Can't they make a dinosaur book that DOESN'Tshow one eating another!!

WOW!!! That Genesis Park is a cool site!!! We read about "Champ", Lake Champlain's sea monster. We had learned about it when we visited New England.
