I really enjoyed it. It is PG-13, so if you like to scan movies before your younger children watch them I would. We did let our children watch it (after I watched it) They've already seen LOTR, Star Wars, etc. There are two scenes that might be questionable for some families, but it probably went over my kids head. But it was a really fun movie. There are witches and magic in it. Anyway, I really enjoyed it and watched to share. Kristine
I've never even heard of that movie before. I always look movies up on the imdb beforehand. I just looked it up on there. Tell me if what it says it close to being true, because if that's the case I prob would not let mine watch it.
No, I was saying for you to look up the Stardust movie you just saw. On the IMDB and then look at the 'parents guide' for it. It will be along the left hand side. I wanted to know if what they say in that, is really how the movie is.
The plot synopsis is true (except for the "transvestite pirate" part, which isn't exactly the case). The movie is AWESOME! I loved it. There are so many lessons within it. I think a young teen girl would be far more interested than a young teen boy. I know I enjoyed it more than DH. There was just enough fantasy to keep it interesting to him.
Yes, I guess for the most part that is true. I think adults may like this movie and then you would have to decide if you would allow your children to see it or not. I know we are very laid back when it comes to allowing our children to watch movies, it's the one thing that they do with their dad, so I use at for "bonding" with him. Family movie nights...etc....I didn't think it was any worse than Pirates of the Caribbean, other than taken from IMBD (implied offscreen sex; one couple who are in love and one couple who have a one night stand that results in a baby, but we see nothing of the sex.) I was much more comfortable watching with the movie last night than the scene they threw in in Transformers (the bedroom scene) Anyway, I would probably watch it first if you were uncertain, it was a good movie, it reminded me of The Princess Bride, probably more for adults though.
I have been wondering if that movie was any good. My oldest is only 10, so I doubt it will be a family flick until I watch it first. However, I thought it sounded adorable.
We really liked it, too. We're also pretty laid back as far as movies go & picked this one for a family movie night not so long ago. Himself & I thought it was great & both remarked that we'd like to read the book. I don't think I'd recommend it to most parents of smaller children, however. I'd agree with whomever said it was a bit like Princess Bride, a little more grown up. That said, Ricky Gervais fans will love his scene.
