I have been homeschooling for 12 years. My children are: Hannah, 17; Rebekah,14; Leah, 12; Matthew, 8; and Micah, 2. Three girls and two boys. My two eldest are in public school, where their dad teaches High School math. (His decision, not quite mine.) Leah is dyslexic, and went to school last year, but I brought her back home as she was having problems with teachers not helping her through her dyslexia. She is doing well here at home with the Susan Barton system. There is no one else in Morton who homeschools, so thought I'd try to reach out some. Believe it or not, we have changed a lot of minds around here about homeschooling and many teachers support us!! People were sceptical when we first moved here two years ago, but we made believers out of them! Thanks for reading such a lenthy missive. Songbird "Sing unto the Lord a new song!"
Welcome to Homeschool Spot! There are a lot of Texans in here. We have 2 daughters, ages 6 & 4. We're homeschooling the 6 year old. The 4 year old is going to our public school's very excellent pre-k special ed program. Both of our girls are mildly autistic and the 4 year old is speech delayed. The 6 year old went through the same program and came out of it needing absolutely no special ed at all, so we started homeschooling her for kindergarten last year. The little one is a bit farther behind, speech wise, so I'm not sure if she will be home next year or not. I hope so!
Welcome! I'm also in Texas, currently in Austin (at least for this moment  ) but have family "home base" in Lubbock. Glad to have you and can't wait to get to know you!
Welcome! I bet you have quite an active household! Big families are a blast. I'm one of 7. I loved growing up in a full house.
WELCOME! Glad you made it here--hope you stay! I bet you could eventually meet up with some of the great ladies on here that are from Texas! This is our 10th year of homeschooling. I just love it, and am thankful that I have the opportunity to be home with my 3 children!
