Those of you who know me know that my family travels with my dh with his work. We don't have to travel but have chosen too. Anyway we've been working in Southern California and on Saturday my dh quit his job. The company fired the supervisor running the job for reasons that were just wrong on Friday. Well on Saturday all the men on the whole job quit in protest. So anyway this leaves us without a job. My dh left to go to the union hall which is 7 hours from us lastnight. I don't know how long he is going to be gone. The kids and I stayed here until we know where we are going. Please pray that God opens the door wide for us so we know where we are suppose to be for the next job and that it wouldn't take to long. We were hoping to stay out here until at least April. The pastors sermon was on this yesterday on how God does things like this for the good. For some reason we need to leave here and it has me thinking. Is it something with the job that wouldn't have been good for us or is it something that God is trying to teach us.
As I was typing this my dh called from the union hall and he is having a very difficult time. Please pray that the right route could open up for us.
Lee - I am new so I don't know you well (yet) but I will keep your family in my prayers. God will always provide for you and your family, you just have to trust him. I have been in similar situations and it is so easy to say from the outside and so hard to do when you're starting to worry about bills, and food on the table and everything else. Take care and let us know how you're doing. God answers prayers and I'll be praying with you... Jennifer
Praying here too! Yes, please keep us updated on how things turn out! This can't be an easy situation, but God is with you and will lead in the right direction!
Lee, I am praying for an opportunity to come up. If it isn't too personal, without giving to much detail, what part of Southern California are you in?
My dh is a lineman (works on the powerlines). It is union and it gives us the opportunity to travel. I enjoy it, I just have a hard time with the unknowing. I know that God will take care of us and He always has it's just hard. I'm not good at the inbetween times. My dh is good at it and he helps me rely on God. We are in LA County - where it is nice and warm. The outskirts though - near the San Bernadino line. The inside of LA is to gang related.
I used to live down there. We lived in Loma Linda, San Bernardino and Grand Terrace areas. I really want to go down there and see the area again, show my kids, AND, of course, take them to Disneyland!
Well my dh just called and he took a job! I hope that we like it. Another job near here that we would like to be on is rumored to be starting next week. The job that my dh took he was the only one qualified for. We were talking and we feel that this may be God. It isn't everday that you need a job and the only one available is requiring everything that you have. So as of now we are planning to move on Sunday. We will be going to a town up by San Fransisco. Hey maybe I can visit Monk, lol. Deena if we keep going north I'll be at your house!
I will be praying for your family, as well. On the other hand, I commend your DH for having enough faith to walk out over his own convictions. God will reward him for it.
A member of our church is a lineman. His company is having difficulties too. I am sorry about that. I also live in Southern California. Central and parts of East LA are riddled with gangs. Many of my cousins are involved. It is a sad way of life, to say the least. The very thing they are doing for power, is the very thing that is killing them. Kind of ironic!
Lee, I am so glad you found something so fast, I hope you keep in touch with us. Keep the head high and all will work out.
