ground beef recipes

    I was givien a book of 101 recipes for 1 lb. ground beef.

    I thought I'd share a few.

    Beef and Potato soup

    1 lb. ground beef
    1 med.. onion, chopped
    1 (16 oz) can whole peeled tomatoes, in liquid
    6 potaotes peeled, and cubed
    1 (8 oz) can tomato sauce
    3 C. water
    2 t. salt
    1 t. pepper
    1 t. hot pepper sauce

    In a medium skillet over medium-high heat cook ground beef and onion, until beef is browned and onion is tender. Drain the grease from the skillet, In a large saucepan combine the beef and onion mixture, tomatoes, and liquid, potatoes, and tomato sauce, stir in the water, salt, pepper and hot pepper sauce, bring to a boil, reduce heat and cover let the sou simmer for 45 minutes or until potatoes are tender.

    Two- Meat Italian Soup

    Makes 8 servings.

    1 lb. ground beef
    1 lb. ground pork sausage
    1 c. chopped onion
    2 cloves garlic, minced
    1 C. chopped green pepper
    2 C. Italian green beans
    3 1/2 C. diced ucchini
    1 (29 oz) can tomato sauce
    1 (14.5 oz) can diced tomatoes, drained
    1 1/2 T. Italians style seasoning
    1 t. salt
    1/2 t. pepper
    1/4 C. grated Parmesan cheese

    In a large skillet over medium high heat, cook ground beef, ground pork, onion, garlic, green pepper for 15 minutes, or until vegetables are tender. Drain the grease from the skillet and transfer the meat and vegetable mixture to a stock pot. Add green beans, diced zucchini, tomato sauce and diced tomatoes. Season the soup Bring to a boil then reduce heat and let simmer for 30 minutes. Ladel soup and sprinkle with parmesan cheese before serving.

    Herbed Chili

    makes 4 servings

    1 lb. ground beef
    2 1/2 T. four
    1 (16 oz) can Italian style tomatoes, in liquid
    1 (15.25 oz) can dark red kidney beans, drained
    2 C. chopped onion
    1/3 C. tomato paste
    1/3 c. water
    1 1/2 to 2 T. Chilli powder
    1 T. dried parsley
    2 t. dill weed
    1 1/2 crushed dried oregano
    1 1/4 t. crushed dried basil
    1 s. pepper
    1/2 t. salt
    chopped onion, optional
    Sour cream, optional
    Shredded Cheddar Cheese, optional

    In a large stock pot over med-high heat cook ground beef until browned. Drain the grease from the pot. Stir in flour and add tomatoes, and liquid, kidne beans, onion, omato paste, water, chili powder, dried parsley dried dillweed, crushed dried oregano, dried, basil, pepper and salt, bring the mxture to a boil, Reduce heat cover ladle chili into wrm soup bowls, and top with additional chopped onion, sour cream and shredded cheddar chheese if desired.



    this actually is so simmular to my own recipe, I use pinto beans and no chunks of tomato for me.

    Buffalo Burgers

    serves 4


    1 lb. ground beef
    1 (10.75 oz) can tomato soup
    1/8 t. hot pepper sauce
    4 hamburger buns, toasted
    1/2 C. crumbled blue cheese

    Shape the ground beef into four hamburger paties. In a medium skillet over med-high heat, cook the hamburger patties until browned on both sides. remove patties from skillet and set aside. Drain the grease from the skillet. Add tomato soup and hot pepper sauce to the skillet, heat to a boil. Return hamburger paties to skillet and reduce heat o low. Cover and cook for 10 minutes or until patties are no longepink. To serve place each patty on a hamburger bun and sprinkle with the crubled blue cheese.

    Cheesy Beef and Potatoes

    makes 4-6 servings


    1 lb. ground beef
    1 med. onion, chopped
    1 C. shredded cheddar cheese
    4-5 medium potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
    1 (10.75 oz) can cream of mushroom soup
    1 C. water

    Preheat oven to 400 In a medium skillet over medium high hea cook ground beef and chopped onion until ground beef is browned and onion is tender. Drain the grease from the skillet. Place mixture in a greased 9X13 baking dish, Sprinkle cheddar cheese, over the top of the beef mixure and place the slice potatoes over the cheese. In a medium saucepan over medium high heat warm cream of mushroom soup and water until heated through. Pour th soup over the sliced potaoes. bAKE THE CASSEROLE FOR 30-45 minutesuntil potatoes are tender and golden. to serve spoon mixture onto dinner plates.

    Taco Skillet

    makes 4 servings


    1 lb. ground beef'
    1 can of tomato soup
    1 C. salsa
    1/2 c. water
    1 (8 inch) tortillas, cut into 1 inch pieces
    1 C. shredded cheddar cheese, divided


    In a medium skillet over med-high heat cook ground beef until browned. Drain the grease form the skillet. Add tomato soup, salsa, water, tortillas and 1/2 c. shredded cheddar cheese, heat to a boil, cover and cook over low heat, for 5 minutes, until cooked through. to serve spoon mixture onto indivdual dinner plates and top with remaining shredded cheddar cheese.

    I'll add more later. If anyone tries any of these please share. also if you have any you do, add those too. I saw one that I make regularly called pizza pasta bake. I've actually posted before.

    Thanks ABall! I just bought 40lbs of ground beef from a friend's dad and really need stuff to do with it...lol.

    well there are soups, main dishes, hamburgers, casseroles, etc....... let me know what you like I'll post them when I have time.

    Wow, I just got home from the store where I bought a bunch of lean ground beef on super clearance. Turned on the computer and here are all these recipes. My family thanks you because there are only so many times they can eat tacos, meatloaf and spaghetti and meatballs before they plan an uprising. Hmmm, maybe they will overthrow my regime then I won't have to cook anymore!!! Wishful thinking!!!!
