Our Mother Tongue Anyone heard of this??? The first year I began homeschooling I strictly adheared to this websites suggestions www.amblesideonline.org but then this year I started out different and wish I had just stuck to what worked for us. For next year I am going to back the full Charlotte Mason way of teaching and following the curriculum from that website as well as adding some things from www.simplycharlottemason.com which has some great free samples. Anyway Our Mother Tongue is listed in the book list for year 7 and I haven't been able to find a copy to look at. I'd love some input.
It's a bit hard to put that in a few words so here are some links. http://homeschooling.gomilpitas.com/methods/CharlotteMason.htm
Here's probably what JenLS was talking about: http://www.amazon.com/Our-Mother-Tongue-Introductory-English/dp/1591280117
For more information on the Charlotte Mason method you can go to www.amblesideonline.org and go to the FAQ section. There are other sites but off the top of my head that is all I can come up with.
No sorry. I just looked it up on Google and got a hit for a grammar book, is that it? It sounds good for highschoolers from what it says on Amazon.
Yes it is a grammar book. The website I get my curriculum from lists it as year 7 and 8 I believe. I guess I really need to try and find a hardcopy to look at before I jump into buying it since nobody has heard of it.
I should look into this. I am hoping to go with a different grammar book for next year. I really like the A Beka Language but I am hoping for a change.
