    Jo Anna:

We use these, and the kids like them. It's full of extra document excerpts, first person accounts, and great pictures. We tend to use it as our U.S. history spine. When we come across a topic that interests us more, we supplement with biographies, more original documents, projects, even historical fiction.

It can be a bit too "politically correct" at times, but not enough to cause us to not use it. Even if there are viewpoints that are not ours, it then provides a chance to discuss the differences.

    Hope this helps!

    Jo Anne,
I use this with my 7th grade daughter. We use it as the spine of our history, also. Joy writes in such an interesting way-it really keeps your attention. Our library has these-YEAH-so I didn't even have to buy them!

So, they can be used alone. Are they a secular or Christian point of view? Either way doesn't matter. Also I have found them on Amazon for cheap, (when you buy each book by itself), they have a 11th book it is called the source book is this book a good reference or not. I don't want to waist money on something I don't need.
