Hi everybody, I'm new here but have homeschooled for several years. Our 2nd son, a kindergartner, really is not a scholarly type kid, he would way rather be playing, running, jumping, anything but sitting still and doing school. Does anyone have advice for me on curriculum that would be fun for a busy boy, or any other ideas that have worked for you? We're using A Beka now and it's not really his style I don't think. I really appreciate it!:)

Thanks for your replies, I'll check some of those out. Yes, a beka is a bit hard for him to sit through! I appreciate your help, this website seems like it will be a great resource!

I would recommend Scaredy cat reading system for phonics. It is basically playing games but it teaches them how to read. I have a son like yours and he is doing great with it.
