My toddler is constantly making the boy Barbies kiss the girl Barbies. I thought about just quietly putting the Barbies away. I think...I really think my older dd did the same thing for a bit. Alyssa even says, "boys kiss girls." I am sure she gets this from my dh and I, and from Cinderella or what have you...actually I don't think she has seen Cinderella..lol. Anyway, I am almost sure this is normal...but just making sure. She isn't trying to kiss the boys are church or anything. LOL.

Sounds pretty normal to me - either that, or we have weird kids because I remember dd11 doing the same thing with hers when she was younger. :)

At least she doesn't have the boy Barbies kissing each other!!!

No, I wouldn't worry too much about it. I think it's quite natural.

LOL! Now that would be funny. Reminds me of when I had to explain that to my older two. Aaron laughed so hard I thought he would bust a gut. He thought I was kidding. LOL.

I don't see any harm in it. I mean if you saw her have the Ken Dolls hit the Barbie dolls or something, then you should worry. Kissing is nice and natural.

I think if the kisses were smoochy, long, television kisses, then I would ask her to stop without embarrassing her. But I am under the impression that they are little love pecks that Ken is giving Barbie. Perhaps, and I am assuming here, to her Ken and Barbie are married and he is just showing his wife some affection! LOL LOL
Honestly, children are so innocent that it is possible, especially if she sees her daddy loving her mommy with sweet kisses.

We are currently going through the same one with my 2 yr old dgd! I told my dd that we are better off not pushing the issue. I figure that she will stop it sooner if we don't see it!

Do you kiss in front your children???? OH NO!!! The BARBIE's ARE KISSING NOW TOOO????

No. Not normal. wouldn't let them touch the Barbies. And stop kissing your husband in front of them...you need to minimize the damage now!

    LOL :D TOTALLY KIDDING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My kids ALL did the same thing...I think it's because hubby and I hug and kiss each other all the time in front of them. They see this as normal loving affection. So at least they are showing that and not how you argue with your spouse or discipline your kids (that's always fun to watch!).

    :)

LOL!!! couldn't resist the urge to be playful! :D

Krista, I'll kiss Carl by, and Rachael will try to come between us. "OK, that's enough! He has to go to work now. GEESH!!!" LOL!!! We will do things or say something just to get a response out of her.

Jeannie doesn't own Barbies, but she does have a quarter of a million beanies. She will sometimes make them kiss each other, to get a reaction out of me. I'll pretend to be ready to barf, and she'll stop and bust out laughing. Now something she did say that I'll have to address later is that girls are supposed to wear short dresses, makeup, and let boys kiss them. Negatory on all that! I'm going to have to fill her in on some feminist views, so she makes the right choices!

Ava it is perfectly natural. I love Krista's comment!

Now I had a friend as a child who lived up the street from me. He would beg to play Barbies when he came over and he always had to be the girl. He also always wanted to play princess - with him being the princess. Today he is a very successfull gay attorney! So if your son starts to be very feminine or girly then I would worry. But if Ken is kissing Barbie and not Ken kissing Ken I think it's all good!

My ds went through a phase of playing with Barbies and he is a well adjusted heterosexual and likes girls. He is very masculine and has built a new garage on to our already two car garage and restored two cars. So I would not be too worried, that doesn't make someone gay. Besides, if your dc did turn out to be gay, I think you would still love him unconditionally!

Oh my I hope my post didn't make anyone think I was trying to say playing with Barbies would make a boy gay! Oh I hope nobody thinks I meant that!!

I was just trying to tell a story from my childhood - that is all - I promise! LOL!

I in no way think that a boy playing with girl toys will be gay! I think it is perfectly natural just like girls playing with dump trucks and and things like that is perfectly normal.
