Okay, after reading all the names of the threads lately we all seem a bit worn out from the year and I think we need to look at the little blessings and small stuff that brings us joy today! Lets list at least one thing that each of our children did that was a blessing today! NO MATTER HOW SMALL! dd rolled up the vaccume chord for me without fussing! Ds finally finished his English class lesson for today! ( took a lot longer than normal to get focused hehe we played pencil people design before we settled to do the work!) what is your little blessing of the day?
dd got 59/60 on her English test! ds got 93% on his Science test! dd said "I love you so much, Mommy!" and gave me a big hug! ds said, "Me too!" and leaned his head on my shoulder! I'm full-up today!
Oh this is a good thread! Samantha did two sheets of math in a timely fashion and got all the answers correct!! Grace asked to do math today and when asked single number addition facts she got them all correct!! This from a kid who is 5 but has never had any formal book work. What a great day!
my dd did all her math without fussing and only got one wrong. older dd got a 98 percent on her English test.
My DS6 has been asking to do extra lessons in his Horizons math every day since we got it, 2 weeks ago. DS3 has stayed dry everyday so far this week, potty training has been a challenge for both my boys so this is a big deal for us.
Even though my dd is sick, we still managed to do 2.5 hrs. of school work today and she is really making progress of reading. And while I was holding her in my lap, she told me she loved me and kissed my hand.
DD: Did an awesome job on math today. She also did all her chores without any fussing. She showed a better understanding of english after doing some "fun" stuff. DS: No whining when doing chores. He also did awesome on math. He even said that some of his math today was fun! DD(2): Has been doing an awesome job on the potty! No accidents in a week! She also said today, "mommy teach me!" She did a great job with hidden pictures and shapes. Oh...she also kept singing "Mommy's the best...mommy's the besty....mommy's the best" but she always does that...just love to brag about it. LOL. Great thread...sounds like through all the craziness we all have plenty to be thankful for today!
This actually happened yesterday, the test administrator gave us the test results, but I will share anyway. For this I am blessed and grateful. Ds' received their scores back from their Iowa's: Composite scores are an average of all the scores~ Oldest composite score: 94 percentile out of 100% Youngest comp score: 97 percentile out of 100%
My son Cameron (16) had his first real assesment test today at Hui Malama Learning Center..I was probably more nervous then he was! I know he does super well in reading and comprehension..but was worried about Math since we both dislike it so much. He did awesome! he scored well above on Reading and was right on the money with his math. Whew! The Saxxon math books have been awesome for him..he hardly needs my help with it.
My girls made me proud by being extra kind to a couple of kids at afterschool who are going through a horrible domestic dispute at home. (Prayers needed for those two and their younger sibling.)
My daughter (8) won a silver medal in hockey today! Our P.E. group meets Monday AM & has a league on Wednesdays. It's our favorite sport-how me & hubby met actually-so she was soooo happy to win a medal in it. Daddy actually got to come today (unfortunately because he's about to be laid off but that's another story). She's been wearing it all day. She rocked!
While we didnt have school today my kids did make me proud. I went to the local college to enroll in classes (I'm going back to school after 11 years! YIKES!) and my boys were very good. This is huge considering they acted like monkeys at the dr's office yesterday.
This is fun! I Hope the thread continues! I am looking for stuff today! I think its good to keep looking for the things that make it all worth while! Right now I can say we figured out what we are going to do with ds for curric next year , and dd asked about Alpha omega academy if she stays home... so see thread on that one! Lol!
Ems gave me a coupon that said she will wash dished two days in a row! Yesterday she flew through her studies. She was focused and on a mission.
