Dd did all of her science for the week on Monday and then did all of history on Tuesday. I think I may like this new schedule of hers if she keeps it up!

I like to brag that my kids are great in public. When we go somewhere I don't have to worry about them at all. They will sit quiet and be polite (as long as it is a short while they are still little) My boy is really great at being good.

Also my ds(4) was "teaching" my dd(2) about all the bible. He "read" her the story of Jonah, Jesus's last days, and Noah. I was proud the details and points he made to her. I got to think yeahh something is really sticking in his head. This work is worth something. Dd also was able to tell him parts of the stories as well.

I like the good points thread. Thanks

DS 1 unloaded the dishwasher quickly, and without complaining! Wow!

Then he went to his room and composed a really neat song on his keyboard. He seems to have a real ear for music. (Unlike his parents!)

DS 2 climbed in the chair with me and we cuddled a while. He asked me to tell him stories about when he lived inside my tummy. It was sweet.

Ds is washing, polishing, waxing and detailing dh's Suburban so it will be clean for our trip. We don't have to ask him to do that, he LOVES auto detailing!

ds learned about millipeeds today and learned that they are "like a boa constrictor!" One wrapped itself around his finger and would not let go! Cut off his circulation and everything for a minute! But he was very excited about it and wrote up a report included pictures and everything about the research he and dh did to find otu which it was centi or milli.
Then he turned it loose in a save to live in it area I think.

I thought this was great!!! Our pastor called and asked me if he could, then came and picked up my ds14 and took him with him on "pastoral" errands. They discussed the Bible reading and outlining assignment he had given ds while they were in the car, and asked him what he thought about this or that when decisions needed to be made! How awesome is that?! My ds LOVED it! I told ds that he needs to remember this, so when/if he does become a pastor, he can mentor/shepherd a kid like this too!

dd had some troubles with this chapter of her math. Today she worked on the last lesson---and ended up getting 90%! She was THRILLED! BTW, I don't do the percentages on daily work, but dd likes to figure it out.

Let's see....DD8 got a 100% on her math test. She was so excited because she's been graphing her scores since she learned about graphing about 25 lessons back. Ever since she began her graph, her scores were stagnant at 95%...but she got to go UP today!!

Even better news today...completely unrelated was that the same DD had an eye doc appt. As many of you know, she has a lazy eye that went basically untreated by our previous doc in KY. He put her in glasses but it never fully corrected her due her undevelopment in that eye and he never discussed options (like patching, etc.) Now she's 8 and her eye development is slowing, etc....so its kinda late to be patching...........however, we've been doing it for about 9 months now (trying to average 6 hrs per day)......well, about 5 months ago, it was correctable to make her legal to drive if her good eye was injured.........went back today and she can read 20/20 with her glasses....YIPPEE!!!!!! So she's better than just "legal"...she's as good as everyone else. So she's getting her new glasses with the new lenses that will accomplish the 20/20. They should be here in about a week and we get to take her patching down to a 4 hr per day average....more of a maintenance plan until her full annual visit in July! WOOHOO!!!

You should have seen her little face when the doc explained and praised all her hard work. Patching at age 8 is NOT FUN!!

This was our first week having both boys home all week and it was GREAT!!!

I pulled DS#2 (4 years old) out of preschool and DS#1 (6 years old) was done with his umbrella school classes (2 days per week), so I was quite nervous how it would all go.

Both boys did phonics/letters and Bible every day and while I worked on Math with DS#1, DS#2 sat at the table and worked on patterns and matching. As we go on we will add a little more to each day, but so far so good!!

Yesterday evening, we planted Cosmos and Zinnia seeds in front of the Gladiola. We also planted a pack of Cosmos seeds under the Purple Robe Locust. We are going to keep track of them from growth, until they bloom. We are making a chart the will go in a lapbook. Ems is excited because we are going to be doing more schooling outdoors since the weather is nice.

The weather is so GREAT today. I was planning on just staying outside, but both kids asked why we weren't doing"school" and I told them I just wanted a break. But they asked to do them. DS even did his reading lessons without so much as a wimper!!!

ds did reading today without a fuss too, infact he finished one book and grabbed two comic books and said "read read read-- read read read-- in a rythme while he went to find a comfy spot to read. He was quiet for quite a while enjoying his book, so I read mine!

Crystal helped Emily study for her spelling test this week and she made 100% yesterday. Crystal finished her math for the year and we are doing review lessons for our last month.
