I just wrote this whole long post about these books, but apparently it did not post because I have not been a member long enough to make links! (I did figure out how to make them though, which was exciting for computer-illiterate me!) :D

Anyways, I went to one of my favorite authors websites - Neta Jackson. She writes the Yada Yada Prayer Group series. (love it!) She and her husband, Dave, also write the Trailblazers series for kids. It is historical fiction based on Christian heroes. And now they have curriculum guides to go with them too!

I haven't actually read any of these books or seen the guides since we are new to this homeschooling thing! But thought that maybe others of you had, and could give an opinion. OR that maybe some of you would want to check it out. Go the authors website and click on For Kids. Sorry I can't make a link for you. I CAN, I'm just not allowed....

Let me know if anyone has an opinion on these - I am thinking of doing them for literature and possibly to supplement history over the elem. years. Thanks!

I'm glad you posted this. I've heard of Trailblazers and Hero Tales, but my oldest is just starting to read and not yet to chapter books yet. I might start them as read alouds!

I did google the authors and found that they attend a daughter church of Brooklyn Tabernacle. I'm reading Jim Cymbala's "Fresh Wind, Fresh Fire", and it is a great book!!! It has changed the way I think of prayer (and church), but I digress. :D I think I will check out the Yada Yada books too! It's hard to find good, clean fiction on the adult level that's not cheesy!

Oh my goodness - the yada yada books will challenge you spiritually and they are just such a good read! Very down to earth and real! If you like Cymbala's bks, you will love these, I bet!
