We just got Bee Movie from the library yesterday and haven't had a chance to watch it so I cannot comment on the content but I had to laugh when I was looking at Scholastic's website and found a really neat looking unit study on bee's! Even if you didn't want to use the movie, the study looks pretty neat. It was funny because I was on that site prowling for book title ideas and saw the unit study! http://content.scholastic.com/browse/unitplan.jsp?id=283
This was weird timing that I found this. Joyce is currently reading The Secret Life of Bees and then the movie came in. She was getting a kick out of seeing a reference to a book in her book and then saw the title in the movie. She's ahead of me in that she beat me to the book and the movie!
Thanks for the link. I think we will use it today. I always love references like this. It seem to stick better when they have a visual they can relate to.
We just watched the movie last Friday! It was cute... It started out a little "humans are evil" etc....but it resolved well and in the end shows how we all kinda depend on each other, I guess. The unit is cute. I had gotten something similar from YMI, I think? ...a little different...but same components. Neat...hope you enjoy the movie!
Thank you! My boys loved this movie and my 4 year old keep telling me about the pollen in flowers. I asked him where he learned that and he said "The Bee Movie". I was hoping to do a lesson with them and then rewatch the movie.
