Last night when I get home from work Troy tells me about Aiden's latest antic. As he was making dinner he sees Aiden by the back door rug with something in his hand. He goes over to see what he has, knowing it's something he shouldn't have, and finds him chewing on something. Aiden opens his hands, and do you know what he was snacking on???? A cat turd!!!!!!:eek::eek: Our older cat has a habit of leaving "hangers", or dingleberries around the house every once in awhile. We are debating whether or not to shave his butt. Well, he must have left one by the back door because Aiden got a hold of it, and had already taken a bite. I didn't even think ANYTHING would compare to the time when Tanner decided to snack on a lump of "used" kitty litter....but this takes the cake over that! Thank God Troy had the common sense to wash his hands thoroughly and brush his teeth and gums.

ICK!!!! I think I may throw up.

EEEWWWW!!! Our male cat sometimes gets those "hangers", too. We did trim the hair around his behind, and it does help. It's one of those things that'll be funny one day.

YUCK! I would really have to reconcile that in my mind and scrub his mouth and hands again myself before I could even touch the child! LOL. WOW! Kids are crazy!

Look on the bright side, at least it wasn't Tanner. LOL

Our cats are generally extremely clean. I never have to bathe them and they never go outdoors. Our cat box is also in the basement so it is away from the living area and the kids. Our older one also usually leaves his "hangers" in the basement, but every once in awhile they will wind up upstairs. I am beyond grossed out. And I work in the hospital lab people...sorting pap smears and blood and other gross stuff...and THIS still grosses me out. EEK!!!

Yeah, I think we may give his little butt fur a buzz this weekend. He's not even a longhaired cat. He's actually a short haired cat.

My cat had a dingle berry drop off her booty cheeks too and she was freaking trying to push it under the throw rug with her paws.

When the puppies would have an accident she would try and get the turd off the floor. She is a tidy cat!

I never realized that could happen to short haired cats. Ours is very long haried (Persian), so sometimes things get caught in the hair. We just trim him up! We also trimmed a little under his chin, because the fur stayed wet from drinking water. He has more hair than any other cat I've seen!

I have to apologize here I realized after reading my post that it didn't quite come out the way I meant it. I have cats too and I wasn't implying that your cats aren't clean...I was more a reaction of me saying that if my child was chewing on kitty poo I didn't think I would be able to keep my kitties out of fear of germs. Anyway I do apologize if that came out wrong. I didn't mean any offense. Sorry

Yuck, my stomach did a little flip flop over that one. Do they make heavy duty tooth paste for little guys? It will be a story to laugh about one day that is for sure!

Oh, no no no, please don't think I took it that way. I didn't really. No offense at all. I just wanted to clarify that this isn't a "common" thing, is all, and that they are pretty tidy for the most part. They usually do not leave the hangers around very often. Our little one actually shakes her butt after pooping, but our older one is lazy and doesn't. Arg! Normally the hangers don't even make it upstairs, but this time it did, and Aiden saw it while daddy was busy.

I will be breaking out the shaver this weekend I think. Poor Taz...he's not going to be happy.

I know. Weird. Do cats normally shake after they poop? Our younger one does, but the older one does not (the hanger king). I always thought he was just lazy, but maybe it's not common and our younger one is just a priss? LOL

I don't know. Our other cat (also a Persian) doesn't have that trouble, but her hair is not as thick. I just thought it was because ours has so much fur. It doesn't happen often here either, but we decided keeping him trimmed up was better than finding surprises every now and then.

YUCK! But I have to admit that I got a good chuckle out of this. My DD just recently confessed to me that she has done the same thing several years back. I was shocked (and oh so grossed out!) to hear it but then I laughed too. She is 12 now and, hopefully, that type of snack has lost its appeal.
