For those of you in or around Houston, which HS convention do you prefer; Texas Home School Coalition or Southeast Texas Homeschool Association. I was thinking DH and I would attend the SETHSA event because it is in June and it would give me time to put the rest of my plans in place; curriculum, buy supplies, clear out the office and set up the school room, etc. Then I was told that THSC is a better conference. But, it is not being held until mid August.
I have never been to one. One of them - I forgot which one - is about 5 minutes from my house at the Woodlands hotel. I am thinking of going but not sure.
We've been to both, and don't really have a preference. I think most of the vendors go to both, so if you are going to see curriculum, it probably doesn't matter. If you are going to hear speakers, maybe you can look at both and see which one has a better line up for you. I prefer THSC. Your kids are young. Don't sweat the small things. You probably won't be buying much at the conference anyway. Activity books from Walmart are just as good as the ones with $30+ price tags on them for kids that are just starting.
