Does the book give you a list of suggested readings to go along with it? If not do you have a few that you really recommend more than others?
You'll want the activity book which has things to do and other suggested reading. I also highly recommend the "chapter book" I don't think it has a specific name. It has the stories and the activity book goes with it. It will also reference the pages for the Usborne World History book and Kingfisher Ill. Ency. If budget is no trouble...splurge for the audio CD's. They helped me TONS with all those big names that I was struggling to say. HTH
Yeah, the Activity Guide is a must! We called the book they read the Reader. Whatever name you want doesn't matter. Anyway, there are lists in there of book suggestions, and there is lots on-line that goes along with the studies as well!
yep, need that activity book! I could do without- and have done without, the reading book. I usually just use the suggested reading list or find my own.
I was asking about MOH & SOTW some time back then a friend lent me SOTW with activity book. For us it is the reader that is essential. We do a lot of research & living books already so what I wanted was something that gave my child a sense of the chronological flow of history; the *big picture* if you like. I haven't used the activity book yet or needed to supplement her reading.
