I don't teach ID and I teach creation as religion, not science. I know I'm not the only on so I was just wondering who else might be teaching just secular science here. I don't want to start a debate or anything, I'm just curious.
I use both The science curriculum we decided on was Gods Design, as I loved the way it was set out.(and at time I needed to buy something before moving here, it was the only decent science set I could find) My daughter believes in Creation, my son Evolution So we do it both ways...different answers from both of them...makes correcting interesting !!!
I teach science as science - seperate from religion. Personally I think it just gives it as more rounded and I have found that it extracts a LOT of questions from my kids naturally - and I just tell them what I believe. Right now they are into the "creatures from the creek" and watching the tadpoles become frogs etc. So questions are popping up all over the place.
While I do teach creation science; I also compare/discuss the evolution theory etc. with my kiddos so that no one can say they didn't have exposure to both view points. The challenge in our home is that my dh is "old earth", while I'm "young earth". Makes for some very interesting science discussions around the dinner table!
We hear from both sides. Both sides have arugments from scientific evidence, however, they truly are both religions. Both are based on faith. So, I don't think one side is more "scientific" and the other is more "religious." Blessings, Trishy kriagirl.blogspot.com
We teach id in our science class. We go over the scientific theories and discoveries. We also discuss flaws and what the Bible points to as the source of creation. We talk about issues on both sides and what our conclussions are.
I teach ID but I also teach the theory behind evolution. When teaching science in general...I don't always connect it back to God...I just teach it.
