what do you like and why. We already have monopoly but looking for others. I saw one with a cash register on it(don't know name), presto chango, and a few others. Just looking for some more fun educational games that deal with math.
Not sure about actual board games you can purchase, but here's a site I thought of when I saw your post... http://www.dr-mikes-math-games-for-kids.com/elementary-math-games.html Maybe you can find some fun games there
We play Muggins and Knockout. I think Rainbow Resource sells it. I also have a book called "Hands-On Algebra" and it has scores of games. Blessings, Trishy kriagirl.blogspot.com
We have a French card game called "Mille Bourne". I played it as a kid, and found it at a garage sale. The kids really like it!
Your 8 yr old may enjoy a pizza fraction math game. I got it at a local sale, but you can also find it here: http://www.ion-development.com/pizza-fraction-game-p-36.html Carol
S'Math it's played very similar to scrabble only with math problems. You can buy it in most toy/game stores.
This may not be a "math" game but Yahtzee is a fun family game. It can be used for math by making the child do their own addition of the scores. We grew up on that game and another good one that may not be what you are looking for is UNO. This is good for even a 4 yr old to work on their matching number skills. We taught my youngest sister how to play when she was 3 or 4.
My whole family can play dominoes together. We also have the junior version of monopoly - easier for kids.
We LOVE games here! I don't know if these qualify as math games but: Monopoly ) you already mentioned) Phase 10 (card game) Uno Skipbo Sorry Apples to Apples (that's more a Language ARts game) Bunko Yahtzee!!!! (an absolute favorite!) Also, my eldest is starting to like soduku...I print her out easy easy puzzles to figure out...but she likes trying to figure them out. I'm not sure about other "math" games, I'm interested to hear what others say!
