We have a lilac bush and dogwood tree blooming. I had to laugh because yesterday I took some lilacs for a ladies luncheon. Afterwards they looked a little wilted and I threw them away, one mom was like "who threw the lilacs away" I said "I have more at home" She was like "I don't" and she pulled them out of the trash to take them home. I guess lilacs are a prized possession.

I love lilacs, I really miss them.

    Cactus are blooming here.
Palo verde trees are blooming (big bad alergy trees)
and some bush that I can't think of the name right now, but it has pink floweres and some bushes around the neighborhood have red or white.

    MMMMM.....LILACS!

My lilac is ALMOST blooming...I'm actually hoping it holds off just a couple days so that when the kitchen is done I can do a bright vase of them in the kitchen for our out of town guests this weekend.

One of our azaleas is blooming, the other's look like they want to.

Our dogwood is blooming, but it doesn't look so good this year - it's still a young tree, so...

That's it SO FAR. Our hostas are growing, but the floral stems haven't started yet...obviously, I guess they don't bloom until mid June or July, right?

Tiger lilies are growing out of control, leaf wise! Stems haven't started yet, but oh my the leaves!!!!

    Mmmmmm....lilac....I love the smell.

Our neighbor has a lilac that "falls" over our fence. I've cut some and have them in a vase on our kitchen table right now!

When I was a kid, we had a bush similar to lilac, only the flowers were white, and in round clusters. It would bloom at the same time, and had a WONDERFUL smell. I'll see if I can find a picture and show you; maybe someone knows what it is!

Our apple blossom tree has blooms on it for the first time since we planted it. The lilacs are trying to make their appearance and the Iris' are in full swing.

:( My lilacs are blooming now! I just went outside to check and sure enough, they've bloomed! They'll be dead by Friday! I'll have to come up with a plan B for my beautiful apple green vase!!! WAAAAAA!!!!

I love lilacs, but I wish they lasted longer! Is it ridiculous for me to pray that they would last until Friday a.m.?

No...it's not a straight out hydrangea bush b/c the flowers would be pink or blue depending on the soil...the one my mom has is white white and the flowers in the "ball" part are smaller like lilac flowers. (the individual little flowers that make up the big ball).

I would imagine the one I'm thinking of is in the hydrangea family, though, b/c it does look like that....

My mom told me the name, and she's a gardener extrordinare (I spelled that wrong!)...dag...I wish I could get ahold of her today!!!

I have a bottle brush tree in full bloom. It looks so pretty only it attracts a ton of bees.

My azaleas are already finished booming. I wish everything would bloom at once.

Our lilacs are also blooming. We also have a lot of trees flowering right now: cherry, apple, pear, peach, crabapple. The redbuds are beautifully in bloom right now...tiny little purple-red flowers all over the branches. We also have a bush called a purple-leaf sand cherry blooming that is almost sweeter in smell than the lilac.

Our peonies are budding right now. Usually they're blooming my Memorial Day, and we take some to the cemetary. I love these flowers!

The Carolina Laurel Cherry, Red-Tip Photinia, Wax Leaf Privet, Russian Sage, and rose shrubs are all in bloom right now. The Purple Robe Locust, Lilac, Forsythia, and the fruit and nut trees have already bloomed. The Buddlia will not bloom until late spring through summer.

My magnolias are blooming. The Texas Sage blooms every time it rains. The crepe myrtles haven't started yet. The Mexican plum, Texas Mountain Laurels, and lugustrum are done. I'm glad the lugustrum is done - Joy seems to be allergic to it. Maybe we'll pull it out this fall and plant a lemon or tangerine there instead. I've been wanting one of each!

I miss lilacs!!! They don't grow down here.

We can't grow citrus up where I live. It is funny because just 30 minutes down the hill they grow it.LOL
Our Crepe Myrtles will not bloom until early summer through fall, depending on the type. They are some of my favorite shrubs.
