We have the second book, Latina Christiana. Carl wanted to teach Latin, and so he started it out, and quit after a few weeks. I've heard it's good, but we didn't do it long enough to really know. One of these days, I might start it again!

I bought Prima Latina for my oldest (4th grade) but we ended up not using it this year. Hoping to work it in this coming year (or start this summer) with all my kids. They'll be doing 1st, 3rd, and 5th in the fall.

I did Latin with my boys for a little while. We did the first two levels of "Latin's Not So Tough" at www.greeknstuff.com when they were 6 and 8 years old.

They liked it, but we just got away from it. Every now and then I think I should be teaching them Latin. but we're doing fine, and dh says no to Latin. So we won't be doing it.

My ds14 is taking Greek and wants to start some Hebrew. dd is doing Spanish and Sign Language. Plus they're doing Grammar and some vocabulary work, so I really think they're getting enough, without learning a whole other language!

But Latin is a base for the English language, so, it's certainly not a bad thing to learn!

The Prima is really for younger kids - my son was whizzing throuigh stuff last year - not a lot of fun for my daughter who was only in 2nd grade.

Right now - we are doing Power-Glide Latin and it's kinda fun - we listen to it in the car and they follow along in their workbooks.

    Yes, we use it.
Get the DVD and let her teach it. Even with the cost I'm still way ahead compared to private school or a private tutor so....

    I have the whole thing
    Student book
    Teacher book (has answers)
    audio cd for practice
    DVD set.

I just picked up the next level of DVD's at our homeschool book sale for $5 from a gal I know. So...all I'll need are the books & practice cd. WOOHOO!

Actually I have the Student Book and the Teacher book (but no cd's) sitting right here. I totally forgot! We started it with my younger two, but didn't get very far before going a different direction...

I returned the DVD's - but think I might want it back and I might go to the Christina Latina with my son - just don't know yet.

I like the Power Glide - it's fun :) I may get them the Spanish one too so we have something more in the car...

We use English from the Roots Up which is Latin and Greek.
There is a game called Rummy Roots that goes great with it.
