I thought I just saw a discussion about it on the WTM board, but I didn't find it with a search just now.

I've not used it, but I've heard positive things about it. I know that's not much help.....

A friend of mine bought it for her 7th grader. He is a wiggly type guy and the way it teaches it works for him.

    IEW recommends it.

    Ug we hated it.

I can't stand grammar that has page after page of underlining this twice and circling this - makes me crazy.

That being said - it was pricey so guess who will be doing it in a few years! That's right - poor youngest son. ;)

Lisa, If Analytical Grammar is maybe repetitious or boring (based on what Colorado Mom said), have you tried Rod & Staff? What grade are you looking at it for? What have they been using before this?

I've not used it, as i'm new to hs'ing, but I've done some reading and have looked into using Junior Analytical Grammar for my to-be 5th grader.

Some people on WTM forums rated it as 2nd to R&S Grammar.

ColoradoMom, is there one that you like better? I haven't bought anything yet, and am open to suggestions. :)

Nope, not really. We use Climbing to Good English for elementary grammar - it is less repetitious but still - it is grammar.

My daughter did Rules of the Game in junior high before we did analytical, but if you ask me they are the same program only ROTG is cheaper and not as thick. Grading grammar was the worst part.

Did she learn grammar - you betcha - but it was painful for both of us. :D

It is probably a top notch program, maybe I'm an anti-grammarite.

With Rod & Staff, the Teacher books are GREAT! So grading the grammar isn't hard!

Thanks ladies, Sorry I have not been on in awhile just finishing school and life. I am still not sure what to get. My oldest needs it the most. She will be 14 soon. We are using Easy Grammar PLus right now. But I think she needs more. Now my other three I AM not sure. I have Shurley English already so maybe I sould just use it. I feel overwhelmed though looking at it.
    Thanks again
