That's what she typically does also. One bottle, maybe two...then back to the regular stuff unless the baby has other skin or allergy issues.

I have two sensitive ones in my house...my dh and my dd...so I try to be careful. Nothing worse than an itchy fussy baby...those dhs! LOL.

We just got an HE washer. I use All HE for it, including the baby clothes.

I have an HE washer and I still use the same Melaluca detergent I used before. It doesn't contain sodium lauryl sulfate, so it doesn't foam up much at all. That's the problem with the HE washers and regular detergent, btw. They agitate more aggressively so they create more suds.

Anyhow, I use the fragrance free version and never had a problem with my boys. Their skin is so sensitive that I noticed a big problem when I used most store bought brands, but the Melaluca is so gentle it never bothered them. And it actually gets my diapers clean, too.

I have ALWAYS used the Kirkland (COSTCO) brand or ALL (from Sam's Club)- dye and whatever free so I don't have to listen to my husband.

It's the cheapest I have found and we go through a TON of laundry because of the farm. Even with all the laundry we go through - it lasts forever!

I did not read the other messages so someone may have mentioned this to you already.

In my owners manual, it said to wash small baby items i.e. socks in a lingerie bag. I did not listen. Well, just over a year after buying it. I began getting an error message. The machine would stop mid cycle.

I researched it on line, used the manual, took the washer apart and guess what??? Two tiny socks, and a handfull of change were blocking the outflow pipe.

I still don't use the lingerie bag since I know how to do the repair, I figure why bother. I should use it though.

If you are not handy, or your DH is not handy, you may want to consider a lingerie bag. GE wanted 60.00 just to come diagnose the problem ~ that did not include any work.

    Washer

Truthful, I use the regular soap in my HE washer. Have since we bought it 8 years ago. I just use less. Have never had any trouble. I use the Baby All since it is cheaper!!

Hi! I got an HE machine and love it! I use Seventh Generation Free and Clear... http://www.seventhgeneration.com/Natural-Laundry-Detergent
They even have a baby detergent.
My sister bought this name brand to be environmental safer...I asked how it cleaned the clothes. She was satisfied. I tried and it does work good. Then when I bought the HE machine I was sad for a moment thinking I wasn't going to be able to use my newfound detergent. But lo and behold it had that nice little "he" signature on the front. I wrote the company and thanked them for making this product for the new machines.
I use the smallest amount of detergent!!
I am 1/4 under the 1 line on the cap of the bottle.
Hope you can find it on sale, Ava Rose and try it! You will be sure to love how it cleans, imho, that is! :)
