Thank you all! The support here is so great!

I sat down today and sent him an email, a nice one. With some links to articles about homeschooling and told him some info myself in the email. I told him, if he wanted to talk about how we were going to go about doing it, that would be fine. But no debating. I went to work, so can't check my email until I get home.

So I hope that he will open his eyes and that some new and real info on the subject will ease his fears.

I have had a tiny bit of resistance from family. My parents could care two cents. Well, my mom is all for it and my thinks "whatever." LOL. My dh's family was a bit more skeptical. No one every confronted me but I never made it a topic of discussion. In fact, I always approched it like "it is none of your business and unless you are the one who gave birth to these kids and support these kids, shut up." lol. In time, all parties seen my kids' successes and now they all support it.

Now, that doesn't happen in all cases. I think sometimes families have to agree to disagree. I was never into making someone accept my decision just tolerate it. When that is my angle I get a better response. I could give a rip if someone comes over to my side...I just want them to stay quiet on their own side. lol.

I was thinking the same thing, but give him time.
My family was not so receptive right away, well my mom thought it was neat cause she knew I was meant to be a teacher. My dad was questioning a bit but he told me once that he never worried about me cause I had a good head on my shoulders ( hehe sure fooled hiM!)
And my inlaws were mildly supportive but weary as sgm was teaching in a government preschool setting and we are not on the same political grounds so we had a few interesting discussions and all but they all have seen the good job my kids have done learning and how happy they are in general home schooling... I am curious to what they will say when Miresa tells them no thank you to paying for private school cause she will be staying home by choice! WOW!
They have pushed out for high school as thier daughter is a high school teacher at a government school. Shes a SUPER teacher too! I love sharing ideas with her, she has been supportive to a point.
