Do you take your bath or shower in the morning or at night? I notice that many of you seem to get up early, make beds and such and then get right to work. I always spend too much time "getting ready for the day".

Depends on the day... I don't usually shower as soon as I get up because it's a race to get two of three boys into the shower and bathed (and they usually drain the hot water tank they're in their so long). I will often shower later in the morning but I bathe at bed time to help me wind down after what is usually a chaotic day... Me and my bubble bath

I have a nice long hot bath after Sami is asleep. :) Also I wash my hair at night cause I don't have a hair dryer and my hair is LONG so this way it's dry in the am.

I shower in the morning if I know we have plans during the day.
Otherwise, like Brenda, I take my nice bubble bath in the evenings, when I can relax in there for awhile. It's called "momtime"!

Almost always at night, after kids are in bed. That's because Carl and I take most of our showers together. We started that when we were first married, and are still doing it after 12 years. When I was single, I always took one in the morning.

Aball, just out of curiousity.... What is your schedule like? I don't know many people that sleep late like that! Do you have a third shift job?

I don't sleep late, I am up at 4:30 in the morning making my hubby lunch and coffee. I try to get about an hours more sleep between 5:30 and 6:30 I get up start up the computer, get breakfast going after the kids say when is breakfast about 3 times each (between 7:30 and 8) (they have all been up since about 5!) I get school stuff ready we do school until lunch, I make lunch, I eat lunch while watching my one and only soap opera and the kids have quiet time, I take a showere then or if things are busy I wait until after dinner to take a shower, unless we have to go out somewhere and then its in the morning! But I start dinner at 5, we eat about 6 the kids go to bed about 7:30 or 8, I tuck them in, then they shout "good night" about 5 times each, then Hubby and I get a little time before we go to bed. ----We learned a lesson a few weeks ago, we cant have intamate time until the kitten goes to sleep because on our first try after we got the kitten, I shut the door, she cried, and then woke up the girls! I had to explain to the the girls why the kitty was crying (made up story) but it still took them forever to go back to sleep!

Any way thats my day! Add in doing the dishes (no dishwasher) and washing clothes, picking up toys, folding blankies, baking, giving the kids a shower, doing school, checking our E-bay store for my mom, Grocery shopping day is Fridays (hubby's job but I make the list, and menu) craft projects with the kids and other kid projects !

And I know I don't even have the busy days that some of you have!

I'm sorry, ABall! I misread your first post. I thought it said you didn't get up until sometimes after dinner.

I know my dog that always slept with me felt very left out for a while after we were first married. Poor kitty, LOL!

Well, I sleep until 7am usually so that is part of my problem. Then, it takes me a little bit to wake up. I don't usually have time to get my shower until 8:30. Sometimes I even get the kids started on work before my shower. It takes me an hour to get a shower/blowdry my long hair and then curl it. It works way better to get a shower at night but I'm so exhausted by then that I just fall into bed and don't have the energy. Also, my hair kind of gets frizzy if I don't go ahead and curl it (which I really hate to do at night...seems pointless if I'm going to bed). I guess I should try really hard to get up earlier and then I'd have more time, lol! My dh and ds wake me up atleast once at night so I have too much broken sleep or I'd be able to get up earlier I think!

Aball that is so funny, because we have to put our cat out of the room also.
She for a while would cry at the door. Then she stopped.
For me its in the morning, when the kids are getting dressed. It usually takes me about 10 mins. to get a shower and blow dry my hair and get dressed. :D
So by the time they are finished with brushing their teeth and getting dressed, I am finished also. Then its on to devotion and prayer time. I drink my coffee while I teach my dd pre-algebra. That's when I need it the most.

Oh, Vicki, we're doing Pre-Alg this year, too! DH tried to start her directly in Algebra with a book his school discarded that you need a PhD to understand...and then told me that the reason it wasn't working was because "I* had an "attitude" against it  !!! Finally he decided I "might" be right, so we're going through this Pre Alg book and it's working VERY well. Some of it she knows, but there's so much she doesn't.

I don't shower until around 1 or 2 pm, after lessons are done. Jeannie gets her shower in the evening right before bed.

How in the world do you manage to get ready in ten minutes? You must have very short and easily styled hair and wear no makeup. I have long frizzy hair that MUST be blown dry or else I look witchy. Then, I MUST curl it or it still looks a little poofy! Oh, I shave in the shower and deep condition too so it always takes me longer. I also have to put on makeup or I'd scare away everyone, lol! I often dream of being a man (or like my dh) because he can take his shower/shave and get dressed in about 15 min.

Does every one else have to fight to take a shower in piece and quiet?? I try to sneak off while every one is busy, or else it seams like they come in and shout "MOOOOOOOM" for every single pittiful reason (he hit me, she took my toy, did you tell so and so they could play x-box, can I go outside, and every other small trivial thing that they can think of when I need to take a shower)

Oh, every single time I go to take a shower my kids must come in. I call it "The Naked Show" because I think they are coming just to see my in the nude, lol. Honestly, they are in there doing what you said ABall. They come to tattle or cry about something.

We take our baths when we get ready to leave the house for the day mostly. That may be 10 am or 4 pm or somewhere in between. LOL All our hair requires it before we leave the house. Yes, everyone washes there hair every day here.

I sleep on my hair and don't do anything to it but brush it. And it is mid-way down my back. I do pull it back in the front so it's not in my eyes. My girls both have long hair. Faythe's is the beautiful dark thick stuff that teens would die for. Problem is, she has a very difficult time keeping it neat. I force her to pull it back every day. She likes it loose. Rachael is long and blond. She wants to get it cut for "Locks of Love". She pulls it back in a litte twist usually.

When my girls were little, I was brushing Faythe's har. It's the same color as mine, but MUCH thicker. I mentioned that she had such beautiful hair, the same color as Mommy's. To which Rachael starts crying, "WHY CAN'T I HAVE HAIR LIKE MOMMYS???" So I told her that SHE had beautiful hair, just like her Aunt Lisa's. To which Faythe starts in, "BUT WHY CAN'T I HAVE HAIR LIKE LISA'S???"

My method of choice is to shower first thing in the morning. I get up at 4:30 am (an hour before the older children) so I am assured of some peace somewhere in the day most days. Our situation for the past year has been an itsy-bitsy (almost teeny-weeny, not quite :) ) home. Since we don't have enough water pressure to shower in our home, we walk over to the community shower. (I guess that's what you would call it--it's private, but many people use it at different times.) So I've been trying to take the girls over there late afternoon, before the floor is ice-cold. Brrr! Anyway, I finally got it figured out that if I dress and wash my face first thing, I feel fresh and alive for the day ahead. It takes me fifteen minutes to: use the bathroom, swish the toilet bowl, wipe down the sink, wash my face, drink a glass of water, brush my hair (it's long--about halfway down my back), wipe down the sink, and dress to shoes. Then I have about an hour for personal devotions..."and we're off!"...

 That's me... If I'm getting ready to go somewhere, I'm in the shower, washed, dried, dressed, hair fixed and ready to go within 10-15 minutes. A little mouse for the hair, hair spray and a blow dryer and the hair is done - it's a rare occasion when I wear make-up so I don't have that fuss. Days when I can take my time... I do.

missy that is right I have short hair, and haven't wore makeup since I was in my late teens. I never have to worry about them coming in the bathroom bothering me mostly because mine are on up in age. I did have that problem when they were little.
