Last night we sat in the Er for 6 hours. My son was having shoulder and chest pain. They did an ekg, xray and bloodwork and said to follow up with his ped cardioligist. His heart rate is running between 90 and 120which is too high. They could not tell us what was going on, he is sleeping right now. Has woke up once with pain in his shoulder. My son is bipolar and takes meds for this, I pray it is not the meds. he is showing improvement with his meds and I would hate to have to change them. I know if they are effecting his heart we will have to change. I am just so scared and upset. I have called his pdoc and I am waiting for a call back and then I will call his ped cardio doctor. I am also frustrated we have found meds that seem to be helping, my son started playing with friends again this weekend, something is has not done in over 9 months. He feels really good mood wise and is really working hard on his anger control. But now we have this pain and increased heart rate. I just keep asking why??? Please pray for my son that this nothing serious and if we have to change meds that we find something that works and doesn't make him gain anymore weight. Thanks
I know this is very frightening. Rachel had to be hospitalized once for a bad asthma attack and Bethany had seizures when she was younger. May God give you peace in this time of worry and trouble, and may He heal your son in His goodness and mercy.
Well I talk to his pdoc and she said the one med can increase his heart rate. She check his chart and it was up some last time we were there and the time before. So his may run alittle higher with his meds. She is not really concerned with that. With the pain in his shoulder and chest seeing all test at the hosiptal came back ok we are going to treat it right now as a pulled muscle and just watch him. He did alot of playing the last couple of days so we think that may be it. If he still has pain in a week then we will see the ped cardo doc. This is just so scary. We have had a long road is the last year, ready for a break and some healthy happy days. Thanks for praying and please cont to pray that all it is is muscle.
