    Stupidity Abounds....

17 Girls make a Pregnancy Pact in Mass.....

    I actually feel this way....

I think there should be a huge investigation into these sick parents and neglectful school administrators who have allowed these children to grow up feeling so unloved, and direction less!

I think public schoolers are weird and over sexualized! They WANT their kids to have sex. They force them to grow up in this sick culture of over sexualization, while denying them the basic human need to feel loved and safe. These kids do not even have a personal self worth or a sense of a future!

    That's CHILD ABUSE!
The state should swoop in, like in Texas and take these poor abused and neglected children out of these "Institutions"! Goodness knows WHAT goes on inside these buildings or their homes!

    Now to the story......
The wanted to raise their babies together!
    It will be FUN!
They can plan Baby Showers and get KOOL stuff!
    It'll be FUN!
One girl was so desperate to be a part of this pact... she allowed a 24 year old homeless man impregnate her . . .

The state says that unless someone makes an official complaint they are not going to press statutory rape charges, because it would be a waste of time......

    Read this.....
"Families are broken," says school superintendent Christopher Farmer. "Many of our young people are growing up direction less."

    THAT is the telling part...
    So sad.

The high school has done perhaps too good a job of embracing young mothers. Sex-ed classes end freshman year at Gloucester, where teen parents are encouraged to take their children to a free on-site day-care center.

Again, so sad that it is needed and "Normal".

I saw part of this yesterday. I was thinking about the same lines about the parents. Where are they? Why did the girls think this was the only option to them instead of going to college or a tech school or something else.

Instead they thought this was the only option to them so they could get noticed?

The school thinks that talking more and offering birth control is going to help? What they need to teach these kids is that there is another life out there besides just motherhood after school. Not saying nothing wrong about becoming a mom but when you think that is the only option that is bad.

My stomach turns..my daughter is the same age as these girls.

    That is terrible!

It will be fun? No, it will be a burden to society when these girls go on welfare and the taxpayers have to pay for their prenatal care, etc. and raise their babies.

and the babies may "love them" but may end up resenting them someday too. because I don't see how those girls are going to have a hard time getting through school and getting good jobs now, meaning unles their own parents will have to raise them or they will just be cycling with barely paying jobs, low income housing, crime filled low income neighborhoods, and everything else........

Ok, maybe thats kind of general, I hope it doesnt come true for all of them, but really what percent of those girls will get above the poverty level on their own?

I would have to ask to be sure, but I am pretty sure there were 30 pregnant girls in the high school my boys just graduated from. I heard that the other county high school thought it was so funny and even made up a chant that they yelled at a ballgame about knowing how to prevent that from happening to them. The high school has around 700 students I think. I wonder what will happen to all of those girls and their babies.

I cannot imagine why anyone would do that...

I felt sorry for the young girls making such a decision like it was nothing more than deciding to join a club.

I just feel sad for everyone all around, because it is just so telling. Maybe they should require this TV generation to watch; The Baby Borrowers before they will be allowed to be without adult supervision.

Oh, wait. They are public schoolers... there is already no adult supervision... sorry forgot about that one...

This is completely insane. I think they should take all the babies and put them up for adoption. Get some families lined up now.

Man this make my blood boil. Babies are not fashion accessories. This is such firm evidence of the depravity of today's society. It is all about my wants, my needs, right now. There is no thought for the future, no consideration for the fact that this little human has no choice in the matter. They are at the mercy of an obviously self-centered and irresponsible child. It's disgusting. It seems as though so many parents require nothing of their children now. It's a free for all and we can all take the easy, fun road to self enjoyment. Let's all join the Church of Oprah, find a weired alternative mental space, and go do whatever we want. Come on...nothing in life is free, baby, there is ALWAYS a cost. Sin is pleaserable for a season, but only a season. This is really sad.

Funny that Baby Borrowers was mentioned. I plan on requiring a lot of babysitting from my boys fairly early on (with my help, of course). They will be required to work in the church nursery with DH and I, as well. I want them to know the reality of childcare.

Of course I'm going to teach abstinence from a moral standpoint, as well, but if a dose of reality can help that along, then I'm all for it ;) .

Ya know, I was just the commerical for the Baby Borrowers. From what I saw they sought out the worst behaved kids in the world to throw on these poor unsuspecting people. lol. In fact, I don't even think that comes close to reality. Or maybe it is only because I became a parent when I was more mature...who knows. I am sure the producers tell the older kids that they can act as horribly as possible. But, maybe it will keep a few legs crossed and cold showers going...who knows.

Oh my dd is 10 and she helps out in the nursery at church and has a little sister...and will be having a baby sister in a month. She LOVES it! LOL. So, that would work for her. In fact, a few kids who are the worst of the worst, she had no problems with..they love her! LOL.

Ok--I will be the unpopular opinion here, but the bolded in the OP really bugs me. I am just now getting out of being a public schooler, and the attitude in the following lines is completely unfair:

I have been a public schooler for the last 11 years. I most certainly do NOT sexualize my kids and I DONT want them having sex. I take them to church and don't let them roam the streets. I do my best to make them feel important and try to keep communication open, even if the conversation isnt the easiest one to have. For someone to paint all public schoolers with that brush is just as offensive as someone painting all hsers out to be weird cult followers.

Ok, before I say anything I just have to say...agreeing with Tbog here, it's really not fair to pull the "public school" card...especially when homeschoolers get so defensive about people pulling the "homeschooling" card. The fact they are in public school has nothing to do with why and how these girls got pregnant. Just like if a homeschool child went on a killing spree it would have nothing to do with the fact he was homeschooled! ;) Get it? If people are going to play the public school card, I think it's really unfair for those same people to expect others to not play the homeschool card. ;)

Do unto others like you would have done to ourselves, ring a bell???

Anyways, the parents should be slapped upside the head because obviously they were not around when all the "bang jiggity" was going on. BUT...I don't know about anyone else, but I was a teenager once. And I also went through teenage phases. Phases where I thought my parents didn't love me because I got in trouble. Know what I mean? Teenagers are a strange breed and a breed of their own. They think their world is over at the drop of a hat.

I'm not necessarily convinced that it was because the children were not loved. I am more convinced that these children were not brought up in an environment where abstinance (sp?), morals, ethics, and the love of GOD were preached. I am not about to take a teenagers word as gospel. The situation still makes my stomach churn, but only God knows what goes on behind closed doors.

    My two cents.

It was meant to be tongue in cheek.
    Edited to add....
It was meant to be tongue in cheek in light of the recent FLDS raids. (Which, here in Texas) was mostly reported about them being homeschoolers.
Sorry for not pointing that out.
