I am ready for the books, but am waiting until the schools start around here. I have been doing a little here and there all summer long. Okay I have doing a little of this and alittle of that for that past three months. I put now the 11th of August for the state.

We were going to do light school through the summer but it didn't work that way. The kids have had a TON of activities and then the boys went to their Grandma's for a week. One was gone and then the other went so that was 2 weeks that we didn't school and now church camp will be coming up. But I am ready to start schooling again. I'm going to resist the urge and try to get a schedule done first. This will be our second year and last year was very disorganized. I'm hoping to go through their books first and get a map of the year going. But we will definately be starting up in September. The public school kids start up the middle of August so that will give mine a few weeks to go and do things during the day when it's not so crowded.

I guess I'm in a different situation. My dd was in ps K this last year until I took her out early on May 9. So, we've been working since the week after that day. Her being in school WAS her "break!" Didn't learn much of anything there, so I'm wanting to catch her up to where she would be had I not put her in ps. I did hs K with her the year before I put her in ps K (decided to try a year with my baby coming), but ended up she was just bored there. Now she's on two different grade levels. . .1st for some subjects and 2nd for others. If I hadn't put her in ps K last year, we would have been doing 1st and be more on a 2nd grade right about now. So, we've just been keeping on here and will take little breaks here and there. I'm hoping within a year or so she'll be up to where she could have been. Shouldn't be too hard. . .I plan to go at a regular pace with the things she's at 2nd grade in, and focus on the stuff moreso that she's in first grade until she's in one grade level for all subjects. I'm sure there's those that don't mind their kids being split between two grade levels, but for some reason it's bothering me! And I do need to order some more stuff. . . . .
